Glistening eyes, holding back tears of despair.
You whisper in my ear, I can't hear a sound.
How do the scars feel after the wounds heal?
Did it burn when they cauterized them?
You were hiding the hurt inside,
Your eyes no longer shine as bright as the days you were at your best.
So, once more I'll say goodbye to you.
Maybe love will find us again,
because there is always tomorrow.
I'm sure you can fake it when it's time to say how much it meant,
Hold back that smile, just a second longer.
