Absolutely, EDDO! Try going to ANY other country illegally and waving the American flag and demanding your rights. This has gone too far. I fear the repercussions will be more than they have bargained for. Love and Light |

I love the people, all of them. Men, woman and children. Everyone of God's children deserve the best earth has to offer. We need to create an environment where we can teach everyone the laws and we need to enforce them equally. Taxes, services and all of the rest of the benefits our country has to offer has to be paid for by the inhabitants of this country as equally as possible. Please find in your heart the real reasons for your anger and isolate the cause and lets fix it the right ways. Please never hold raceism in your heart, it is a poison that rots the heart and will aways haunt your prayers. |

Thats the thing - they need to realize that they cant come here and demand services from a resource that they do not contribute to. It has nothing to do with racism |

All these posts have 100% to do with racism because there are tons of ways to fix the problems but people are taking it out on the illegals instead of the systems and politicians that enable and want this. |

But why SHOULND'T they take it out on them? They are not stupid...they KNOW what they are doing, and they ARE part of the problem. *sighs* Give somebody an inch, and they'll take a mile.. |

Every single argument illegal advocates put forth as a reason for support can be countered with a common sense reply that requires just a bit of logic and analytical thought. If people want EQUAL opportunities, why is it that the only way they are attempting to achieve that is to LOWER our standards (w/re: laws, education, work)! It makes NO SENSE to the thinking person's mind. And, perhaps unfortunately for them, the 'thinking person' is done being a 'feeling person' on the issue other than giving them the basics -- water, food, clothing, which most of us will continue to provide. God Bless. |

If our government is not adequately providing for our own hungry children, our senior citizens, our homeless, our working class, etc, then I cannot sit back without feeling a little anger while some break our laws to enter our country expecting and demanding support from our tax-funded benefits. Those who have entered our country illegally have no voice here, and they have no rights to receive anything from our country. Let them return to their own home and put their energy into making their own home a better place to live. |

Raddy, please do not turn this into a racist issue. This is an illegal alien issue. I grew up in a neighborhood where my best friend was a Mexican boy who lived down the street. My parents best friends were the cousin of Johnny Rodriquez, the singer. Mexicans have been a part of my life, all my life. I am a Texan, and was a Houstonian. Mexicans are part of the culture. But let me tell a story of what is happening today. I have been divorced about 5 years. A couple of years before the divorce a house went up for sale in our quiet little neighborhood. A nice neighborhood, though older, with tree branches meeting over the street, children playing on the sidewalks in the evening. The school district was excellent, one of the best in Texas. A house went up for sale down the block and sold quickly. The next thing everyone knew, there were 10+ Mexican men sitting out front on lawn chairs, drinking beer and playing Mexican music on their boom boxes. Loud! Suddenly, no one wanted their kids outside in the evening. I reported pit bull fights going on in this barm/garage they erected. Then, when we were divorcing and getting ready to sell, a Mexican man that lived in back of us, a nice man - a neighbor, came over and said he really really wanted to buy the house for his daughter and new son-in-law. We said the house was a little large for a new couple, as it was four bedrooms, but he insisted it was perfect. So, we sold to him. Within 3 months, when I stopped by to visit an old neighbor, I was told that the living room and bedrooms were full of cots and that the house was full of illegals that could not speak English, and were doing just as the men were down the street. There was a great deal of anger there. My neighbor immediately on my right, a precious sweet 78 year old lady, left her home and moved into a nursing home, as she could not stand the racket and the men scared her. So, this is not a racist issue. This is an "American" issue. It is illegal for all these people to be in a single-family dwelling. But, has the government done anything? NOthing! As neighborhood by neighborhood dies, falling into the abyss of one more barrio, home values die and the long term investment that someone has put into their mortgage is gone. Peoples dogs are killed by these pit bulls that are fought for fun and profit. Anything to make a buck. Until you have lived it, you have no right to call another person racist for trying to perserve a standard of living. Let the immigrants go through the proper channels. Let them learn to speak English. Let them quit shopping in "packs", so that the one English speaking person can "speak" for all of them. I am supposed to feel sorry for them because their country is poor. Well, I do. But, they need to improve their own country, not sneak in here and drag ours down with them. Love and light |

LW... I am not turning this into a racist issue I'm trying to keep it from one. All of the talk here is about the Mexicans and not about the Government. The only way to fix this problem is the Government. You can complain about the people, their habits, their customs, their kids and everything you can think of however, absolutely none of it will change a single thing except convince people to dislike them which is exactly what causes racism. If it continues I will removed all the posts on this topic. |

I posted an article about a year ago about a young man who was adopted by an American couple, he went to Mexico to meet his birth family...he fell from some rocks, hit his head and was refused medical treatment in a Mexican hospital because he had no proof of insurance. He died. Yet, Mexican families have sued the United States for not providing drinking fountains in the desert for people entering the United States illegally. I want immigration, I don't know anyone who is against it, but it has to be done in an orderly way with rules that should be enforced. I think that is part of the frustration for some people, we have rules and laws and we don't see the government enforcing them. |

Raddy, this is the first time, the VERY first time in 50+ years that I have EVER been called a racist. I tried, I truly truly tried, to make it plain I was talking about illegal immigrants. I do not know how to say what I am saying, obviously. I deeply resent the fact that 1000's of protestors can march on Government buildings to make their voices heard, trying to stop any new immigration policy that might help solve this problem, but when I voice my opinion that I do not think a big "A" should be given to the millions of illegals here, I am a racist. I am deeply hurt! Love and Light |

I just remembered this. About a year ago they were building a brand new home directly behind our house. One evening my husband and I walked over to look at the house...yeah, we're nosy...as we walked in a young, very good-looking, well-groomed mexican boy of about 16-17 was sitting on the floor in the living room. He stood up as we entered and quickly acted as if he was working...we tried to make a little conversation with him as we looked around, but he understood as much English as we understand Spanish. After that, I noticed my dogs barking at night, something that doesn't happen often, during the day I noticed the young man working with the crew building the house. We knew the young man was staying in the house, I told my husband I wanted to take some food to him, but hubby said that was a very bad idea...so I didn't. But what a way to live. Should we have called INS?? Probably, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. After about a week the dogs stopped barking at night, I assume the young man found some where else to live. And Lightworker is entirely correct when she says many illegal immigrints live in one house to share expenses...that isn't part of there culture I don't think, that is just the reality of what they do in order to stay here...the money they save by living together they are able to send home to support their families. |

Author 63465, I just don't get it. Am I missing something?? In all the posts on illegal immigration that has been posted here, I do not see how anyone would get the impression that the posts are about hating a race of people. I see no slurring and bashing of a race of people. What I do see is that some are angry because some people are breaking our immigration laws. I see anger because we must use our tax funded benefits to support those who are breaking our immigration laws. I see anger because those who are breaking the law have the gall to demand things of us. They demand that classes on Mexican culture be taught in our schools, demand that our government provide free medical care, demand that we learn their language, and last and their greatest offense is flying the Mexican flag over the American flag, which was flown upside down. grrrr!! This in itself would give us good reason to be angry at the illegal immigrants. I am angry at our government for allowing all this to go on, but I am also angry at those who have the gall to do the things they are doing. Will I be accused of hating the people in our government because I am angry at them as I am accused of hating illegal immigrants because I am angry at them?

If I'm in a bind, a mexican man is the first up for me, like latetly when I went down on my bike, a mexican man jumped out of his truck and helped me heft my 600, and he pocked the rebar I slipped on. I love people, I love variety, but without govenment and rules then fairness is more lopsided, and ILLEGAL immigration is unfair to LEGAL immigration. |
