A while back I bought a 1988 Toyota Pick-up 4x4, single cab with a 3inch lift kit, and 32 inch tires. Worst mistake I ever made. Don't get me wrong it's a nice truck, but the engine is too small, the cab is to small, and I'm a 6 foot 1 guy! So basically just too small. I hope to one day get me another truck and make this one my "Project". You know, to go four wheeling in. But when I get this other truck, I will cut the chassis and frame of the toyota to extend it to a 4 door! This has never been done on this year model of toyota. I may just buy the frame of and old 4-runner and stuff it underneath and build the custom cab.
Next I would take the 4 cylinder 22-re engine ( by the way this engine is very very good on gas, 30 mpg! But it has very little power.) and chunk it, or sell it, and stuff a Ford 302 V-8 in the engine compartment. I would have to have fuel injected with the way gas prices are right now. I would take out the current transmission and replace it with a Ford Transmission out of a 98 F-150. I would take out the axles and replace them with dana 40's. Then I'd put a suprlift, 6 inch lift kit on it, along with 38 inch Boggers ( tires). But yeah it's kind of a dream I have, to make that truck something it needs to be. - Mr.Nascar- You can join Unsolved Mysteries and post your own mysteries or interesting stories for the world to read and respond to Click hereScroll all the way down to read replies.Show all stories by Author: 62163 ( Click here )
