Do You Have Drama In Your Life?

Am I the only one who doesn't?

Today when I called my mom, who lives in another state, she told me she had been thinking about calling me but nothing was going on. Then she started telling me about all the crazy things going on in my family and all the drama that has ensued and that constantly surrounds them. They have so much excitement at any given moment that they don't even notice it. There is always something going on that would give me so much stress I'd probably have a heart attack, even at 22.

For example, they have had so much snow that in the spring, there will be a flood headed right for their house. My mom slid off the road and hit a deer, my sister got in a car accident, my ex-cousin was killed in a gang related shooting, they ran out of propane and were without heat yesterday and it was 20 below outside, someone stole my brother's backpack, my sister keeps getting hit on by old drunk men, my mom is in the middle of a divorce, my mom's boyfriend can't get along with my grandparents or siblings, one member of the family is trying to sue another, my aunt is spreading rumors about her husband.... the list goes on. This is just another average day for them.

My mom says nothing is going on, but I say her nothing is nothing like my nothing. There is no drama going on here. My life story right now would bore you to tears.

So do you have drama in your life? If so, do you like it that way, or would you prefer some piece and quiet? :)

Date: 2/17/2006 9:09:00 PM  From Authorid: 34487    I kind of like it when my life is in a boring spurt. I've always had drama in my life and if I didn't have drama, someone close to me did so I got theirs by proxy. Some people are drama-attics though and they live for it....not me.
Date: 2/17/2006 9:10:00 PM  From Authorid: 63026    at the daycare i use to work for, was a good plot for a soap opera. It was crazy, I try to avoid it.
Date: 2/17/2006 9:10:00 PM  From Authorid: 15394    I find most of my drama here!! LOL
Date: 2/17/2006 9:12:00 PM  From Authorid: 15394    although I must say that what little drama there is in my life (thank goodness) seems to come in clusters...
Date: 2/17/2006 9:13:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 11348    Yeah I could do without the drama most of the time. But I guess it makes life interesting.
Date: 2/17/2006 9:33:00 PM  From Authorid: 32861    holy crap...sounds like my family. My mom never tells me anything either! Like my grandpa having his 4th heart attack (when were 1, 2, and 3?!) and his 3rd open heart surgery (?!!?). Just because I live a few hours away doesn't mean you can't pick up the phone and call...sorry about my little rant. lol. I do prefer the boring simplicity of my life, though.
Date: 2/17/2006 9:48:00 PM  From Authorid: 36901    Sounds like my roommate and her family.
Date: 2/17/2006 10:09:00 PM  From Authorid: 27403    My life tends to be feast or famine where drama is concerned. There will be so much happening that I am running in all directions at once, then, fizzle-pop, everything goes and it is boredom. I have prayed many times for just plain ol'normal, but it is not likely! I am a burn the candle at both ends till I drop and have to spend 5 days recuperating! I gripe about it, but must like it, cause my whole life has been like that! I think my whole family, including myself, is just plain old melodramatic and highly dysfunctional! LMAO! Love and Light
Date: 2/17/2006 10:13:00 PM  From Authorid: 7574    Nope, I don't not at the moment. But I will have to figure out some way to tell my mom about my older boyfriend. That'll be fun.
Date: 2/17/2006 10:23:00 PM  From Authorid: 46486    I always have drama in my life. Due to the people I know.
Date: 2/17/2006 10:27:00 PM  From Authorid: 49091    My front yard is roped off saying "WARNING: ALL WHO ENTER HAVE A CHANCE OF GETTING THEIR EYES SCRATCHED OUT BY MOM. BEWARE!!" I have more drama then I can explain in less then 20 min.
Date: 2/17/2006 10:30:00 PM  From Authorid: 28071    your drama is my drama, right? David/Fearfactor
Date: 2/17/2006 10:41:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 11348    Yeah it's crazy how it usually happens in waves, all at once and then it's gone. But for my family, it's constant. And I'm not included in it, since I live so far away. Which might be a good thing! lol. Thanks for the replies.
Date: 2/17/2006 10:59:00 PM  From Authorid: 39370    Nope, no drama in my life really. I'm currently looking into getting a new job. And that's about it lol. My life isn't very exciting :P
Date: 2/17/2006 11:20:00 PM  From Authorid: 58416    Way too much drama here. It's a constant in my life. It definitely istaking it's toll on me. I need a break from it lol.
Date: 2/17/2006 11:41:00 PM  From Authorid: 63241    I'm right with Lightworker!! Everything seems to happen all at the same time and then...nothing. I've learned the hard way NOT to say "What else is going to go wrong?" when the drama starts up. Yes, I prefer peace & quiet. -Wood Elf
Date: 2/18/2006 1:54:00 AM  From Authorid: 59418    I don't have any more drama that any other teenager lol. In fact, probably far less.
Date: 2/18/2006 4:54:00 AM  From Authorid: 62983    At the moment no drama here, I'm happy to report. The last 2 1/2 years of my life was so full it would make you sick if I told you about it. So right now I'm happy that my life is boring. : ) **WanderingGurl**
Date: 2/18/2006 5:14:00 AM  From Authorid: 46527    Peace and quiet is good, I can't stand drama.
Date: 2/18/2006 8:34:00 AM  From Authorid: 35720    I don't have THAT much drama.. but I do have drama.
Date: 2/18/2006 3:21:00 PM  From Authorid: 63280    I'm sorry to hear all that has happened in your family My family life is one big soap opera lol in a good and bad way sometimes. My life kind of goes in cycles. I have a disturbed ex boyfriend who I'm afraid to return stuff to on my own since he has a history of violence and being unpredictable. He keeps asking to come up here too (which I'm obviously like um, NO). I haven't even told him that I'm dating someone else yet because I'm afraid of 1) his reaction and 2) that he'll use it to try to start manipulating me again and bringing negative stuff back into my life. It's not so bad though - I do my best to keep him out of my life. I envy you to some degree - your life may "bore us to tears" but not having drama doesn't mean it's not interesting Take care ~ Coffee Goddess
Date: 2/18/2006 4:11:00 PM  From Authorid: 42945    I love the solitude of peace and quiet, one day I might know what its like LOL!!!*hugs*
Date: 2/18/2006 4:13:00 PM  From Authorid: 30747    Drama? Who me? *smiles* In the past week my brakes failed, my fuel pump went on my car and it cost me $600 to get fixed, I got lost in the middle of no where doing my boss a favor and almost had a nervous breakdown over it,and until about an hour ago I had been without power for the last 32 hours because of some stupid wind storm and since I have electric heat and it's below 0 degrees, I have been freezing my tush off, screaming at the power company AND my fish all died. Oh and did I mention my husband moved out last Saturday? It's been a week from hell.
Date: 2/18/2006 5:29:00 PM  From Authorid: 16671    Ask Base, I have too much drama in my life, it would take up the whole of your post. LOL
Date: 2/18/2006 5:49:00 PM  From Authorid: 16376    None really at the moment.
Date: 2/19/2006 1:24:00 AM  From Authorid: 30647    I have too much drama. and just when i end one, more pop up. ahhh! haha.
Date: 2/19/2006 1:25:00 AM  From Authorid: 30647    but...i suppose it keeps me entertained
Date: 2/19/2006 7:40:00 AM  From Authorid: 4144    there's drama in the family but i try to stay out of it. most of it is silly crap started by silly people. then there's the backstabbers. and soon there will be a court battle over a tiny little bit of land. and there's always somebody fighting about something. i just stay home or go to bingo. hey, somebody has to be the adult!!
