~*~If you had a offer to" Immortality", What would you do?~*~Mlila~*~

Hello everyone!

I was thinking the ultimate question today, what would you do if whatever god you worship would come to you and tell you that hey offer you immortality. But Immortality would come at a price. In exchange for the "peter pan complex" you would have to give up being human.. not eat, not being able to sleep. Being like a movable statue..And not being able to have a contact with anyone. But you would be immortal.

For my part, I dont think I would grasp the chance, Weird thing is that I want to grow old and experience a lot of different things and I will eventually die, but I want to be able to overcome the challenge of life. On my death bed I want to smile and be content with the life that I have led. I want my last words to be that I was happy. And I am, yes I dont have a University degreem and I am not a millionaire, but in the end those that really matter? You die and you become the same material then a beggar in the streets.

A path as being immortal does intrigue me, but, I tell you honestly, I would like it at first, to peek at everyone, to sit in classes and learn stuff for free, woohoo! But not being able to have just contact would be horrible for me. I not be able to stand being alone.

What would you do?

thank you for reading and please rate me..

~*Mlila*~ ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Here are some questions. If you had the chance, put aside all what i said, what would you exchange for immortality?

Date: 1/20/2006 5:47:00 AM  From Authorid: 63241    I would rather "go" when my time comes. It was hard to deal with the loss of my mom two years ago, and it would be hard to deal with the loss of the other people in my life that I love when their time came. It would be too sad to outlive those I love. -Wood Elf
Date: 1/20/2006 5:52:00 AM  From Authorid: 23075    I would not take it. I want to see my parents and other loved ones again. Nope I want to go when it's my time.
Date: 1/20/2006 6:29:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 33918    So you are not afraid to die?
Date: 1/20/2006 6:39:00 AM  From Authorid: 27534    I would decline..... I figure I will enjoy eternity .....
Date: 1/20/2006 6:44:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 33918    eternity?
Date: 1/20/2006 6:52:00 AM  From Authorid: 15157    I certainly would not accept it.
Date: 1/20/2006 7:17:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 33918    Why would you not accept it, what is the main reason for not accepting?
Date: 1/20/2006 7:53:00 AM  From Authorid: 3835    I feel we all are already immortal in different ways, materially and spiritually. So, I would opt for immortality as I already am heir to such a state of awareness as it is, by gift of Divine (-: Who says being immortal means to live in the material world all the time anyhow? Who says you would be aware in just the material sense, what about your spiritual sense? What reason would one believe they would be stuck in the same life as they are right now, over and over? Who says that to be immortal means you would lack conversation with others? I already am immortal, I am just stuck here in the material awareness of it at this present time! I will move on one day and greet another experience in another realm, under different facets of just "being". I will be aware of each new experience when I am at that point of reckoning within that moment.. yes, Lol.. I am already immortal indeed!
Date: 1/20/2006 7:55:00 AM  From Authorid: 27534    Eternity..... I think the human condition is important....after I shed this mortal coil...there is eternity.....and God....and all the good stuff there .....eternity....my opinion....my belief....I am intrigued by an idea that occurs to me about this.....dying is easy...living is hard.....and getting the living right harder....now if you were immortal....hmmmmmmm but no....my answer is still the same..... decline and wait on eternity.
Date: 1/20/2006 8:02:00 AM  From Authorid: 63258    Life is great and I love it. But, I know that my time will come to grow old and reflect back on a full and wonderful life. I am not hurrying my demise but I will welcome it with open arms. Great post! -KT
Date: 1/20/2006 8:05:00 AM  From Authorid: 3835    Perhaps I am blending immortality with reincarnation and what is labeled as eternity.. for is not eternity a facet of immortality in a sense?
Date: 1/20/2006 8:24:00 AM  From Authorid: 600    Nope. I'm not exactly enjoying the "signs" of aging, lol, but would much rather spend eternal life with God.
Date: 1/20/2006 8:31:00 AM  From Authorid: 55689    Nothing, I wouldnt want immortality, it scares me.
Date: 1/20/2006 8:41:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 33918    Hmmm instersting
Date: 1/20/2006 8:47:00 AM  From Authorid: 3835    With everyone saying no to immortality, I have to ponder... does this mean you feel that your life is totally over when you leave this awareness? Some of you are opting for eternity.. what is the difference between eternal and immortal? I see none, as both have to do with Divine Intervention, in my opinion. You still "live" on and on in either instance. Or, am I too complicated with my perceptions?
Date: 1/20/2006 8:53:00 AM  From Authorid: 600    Only life in this bod Sur5r, which I must admit is beginning to feel the effects of gravity, lol.
Date: 1/20/2006 9:35:00 AM  From Authorid: 12709    No way.. I'd go insane without having contact with anyone! The not eating and sleeping sounds fun, though. I don't like doing either of those, anyway. =P
Date: 1/20/2006 9:48:00 AM  From Authorid: 15157    I was perhaps thinking this life as being immortal...and since I believe in reincarnation I suppose like Sur5r pointed out...we are already immortal
Date: 1/20/2006 9:50:00 AM  From Authorid: 48250    I already have it...In Eternal Salvation Through Jesus Christ., I would rather Spend Eternity with God......T/C
Date: 1/20/2006 10:06:00 AM  From Authorid: 53054    But who is not to say that when you die you become immortal????
Date: 1/20/2006 10:11:00 AM  From Authorid: 53284    Not with those conditions.
Date: 1/20/2006 10:59:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 33918    I am sorry to be gory, I beleive in spirits ghost ect.. I am just asking for the curiosity of. How about if there was no life after death, that the chains stops there. When the last breath comes out of you, there is nothing. Would you then take immortality?
Date: 1/20/2006 11:53:00 AM  From Authorid: 43608    I believe we exist on as a spirit So I'll just wait til I die to experience the rest of forever. No thanks would be my answer.
Date: 1/20/2006 11:54:00 AM  From Authorid: 23075    I'm not afraid to die....
Date: 1/20/2006 12:12:00 PM  From Authorid: 27534    I am with Paddy.....death is easy....living is hard....and I have answered the what next question for myself....so no..I am comfortable with the prosepect this is it "until"....meaning I pass throught the door.
Date: 1/20/2006 12:47:00 PM  From Authorid: 48809    As some of us know, we are already immortal and will live forever no matter what. God has given us all eternal life so this means that we are immortal and will live forever. I am not afraid to die either and I am content to stay here to finish what I came here to do and then to pass into the higher life and to continue my education there .
Date: 1/20/2006 12:54:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 33918    So, we are like the ancient egyptians in one way then, you are saying that we live our days to die?
Date: 1/20/2006 1:13:00 PM  From Authorid: 30786    Hmm... an interesting concept. I am and I think would always be, fascinated by what happens in the afterlife, and becoming immortal would rob me of that opportunity. The part about having no contact with people though, what kind of life would you possibly be living if you had no contact with people? That fact alone would convince me otherwise. That would suck to be all by yourself for eternity
Date: 1/20/2006 1:58:00 PM  From Authorid: 42945    I'm not afraid to die, and I believe I will see my loved ones who have passed on before me, so immortality is not for me!! good post and rated *hugs*
Date: 1/20/2006 2:01:00 PM  From Authorid: 7574    I couldn't do it. I like eating too much.
Date: 1/20/2006 6:11:00 PM  From Authorid: 63121    Well, to not sleep is one thing, I'd love to be able to not have to sleep. So much time is wasted that way. I hate feeling tired in the morning and not being able to sleep but know that you have to so you can get up the next morning. But........... I love eating way too much. I would love to live forever, I just wouldn't want to see the fate of the world It could be scary. It would suck if you couldn't interact with people... if I could, I'd do things I normaly wouldn't do. Hehe
Date: 1/22/2006 11:06:00 AM  From Authorid: 13729    I would only do it if I could become a Vampire..........
Date: 1/22/2006 6:31:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 33918    Ritzbe, you would be able to take a life? Or if not, feed on poeple and not el bad for it? Live the rest of your life out of daylight? Being seen by people as a monster?
Date: 1/30/2006 7:29:00 AM  From Authorid: 19871    I would not, to see your close ones die, not being able to escape reality in dreams, sounds tough for me
Date: 3/29/2006 11:48:00 AM  From Authorid: 13729    No one would know if I were a Vampire, they wouldnt see me as a monster (until it was too late) and I'm sure I would feel bad about it for the first 100 years or so, but then, lets get this (blood) party started!....
