I've got a cold, flu or something that is knocking me on my bum. I don't have health insurance, but my kids do so I am taking them to the doctor today to get them some medicine. I was wondering if any of ya'll knew of any tried and true home remedies that I could take and possibly give to them too. I need something as I feel like total crap as do they.

Thanks

Kysta

If there is an herbal store there, it is best to get them in bulk form and fill the capsules yourself. The herbs are usually much fresher this way. Take the cayenne with a large glass of water and then get under the covers and go to sleep. When you wake up, you will probably have to change the sheets from all the sweat. It works for me...... Hope it works for you.............
Date: 12/9/2005 5:23:00 AM  From Authorid: 46069    hey kysta.. morning.. Sorry you are feeling so awful.. This time of year we OD on echinecia and vitamin C. There is this new product out over here called ColdFX.. havent tried it yet.. but its suppose to get rid of a cold quickly and it can also prevent colds. Hope you are feeling better soon. Drink lots of fluids and stay warm.. get lots of rest!
Date: 12/9/2005 6:18:00 AM  From Authorid: 25390    Drink a lot of fluids (especially water and orange juice). Make sure you eat fruits high in vitamin C (anything citrus), or if you don't do that buy some Vitamin C pills. Make sure that the vitamin C also has either zinc or echinacea. Or, if you have about $12, go to the store and buy some Mucinex...it'll get your mucus loosened in a matter of days.
Date: 12/9/2005 7:06:00 AM  From Authorid: 19092    ^^^^ That's an ODD reply, we always use "hot toddys" << probably didn't spell that right. Boiling water, little butter, little honey, little (or alot) of whiskey...throw in some nutmeg or other spice....4 or 5 of those and I'll bet you feel better....
Date: 12/9/2005 7:33:00 AM  From Authorid: 10915    chicken noodle soup is always a good remedy along with vitamin c products.
Date: 12/9/2005 7:34:00 AM  From Authorid: 10915    LOL@KC I bet they will feel better. lol
Date: 12/9/2005 8:03:00 AM  From Authorid: 2030    Take that hot toddy, leave out the water, butter and honey. Just fill the glass up with Wild Turkey and down it. You Will feel better I assure you. (or you won't care)
Date: 12/9/2005 10:40:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 30986    LOL! *cough, cough* Jeeze, KC and bcar don't make me laugh it makes me cough. My grandma, believe it or not, is gonna make me a hot toddy before I go to bed tonight, I just have to send someone next door to get it. Thanks for the other suggestions I'll try them too the next time I'm down the road I'll pick up some vitamins to keep on hand. I used to have some but can't find ANYTHING I used to have before the move here for some reason.

Date: 12/9/2005 8:30:00 PM  From Authorid: 16671    Yup, ya get about a fourth of your glass and put whiskey in it, then a couple of teaspoons of honey and then some lemon juice, warm it up and suck it down.
Date: 12/9/2005 8:31:00 PM  From Authorid: 16671    LOL just read the commentes, me and the KING, make our hot toddys just a wee bit different but yup they work.
