The new Kodaks are good. They have deals now where you can get them in a package deal with the dowload port and printer. If you want one of the best, Nikon has one out there in the $900 to $1200 range. A little expensive, but an excellent deal. A lot of newpaper photographers are using it now. |

Well, I've got an HP Photosmart M407. It's got 4.1 M.P's...so the pictures are pretty clear. I'm not too sure on the cost since I got it as a christmas gift, but it can't be too much more than $250 (if even that much). Good luck finding the one you like . |

Me I like the $99 kind with 3+megpix and at least 4x non-digital zoom. One that takes a standard 1meagpix flash card so you can take bunches of pictures. |

it really does depend on your budget, if you have a high budget there are some amazing SLR digitals out there.. if your budget is lower there are still tons of options for you, you dont seem to be asking for much, just make sure you get a minimum 3mega pixles and i suggest something with a bit of a zoom back screens are also a really nice perk and i suggest having one, also find one that you can also buy seperate memory cards for(most do but some have built in memory cards) if your willing to wait a little there are great deals after christmas(could pick a nice one up for the 100 range on boxing day) |

also consider do you want one that you can also get a "printer dock" for?? so you can just put it in the doc and print it out that way instead of with your printer through your computer |

I have a Cannon Powershot S1-IS and I love it. What kind of pics you want to have will detirmine what kind of camera you need. If you want to be able to have big prints of your photos, then you need a higher megapixel camera. If you think you will ever need a good zoom, then you need at least a 4x optical zoom (Know the difference between the optical zoom and the digital zoom- using the digital zoom makes for lousy pictures!!!) You need to make sure you get a big eonugh memory card to last you for hte longest time you will be away form your computer (like if you go on vacation for a week.) You will also want to take into account the batteries. Will the camera take regular alkaline AA or AAA batteries if you get in a pinch without a battery charger? or do you have to use the battery that came with the camera and plug it in and wait to recharge? Again, I love my Cannon. And actualy, if you can hold off til a week or so after christmas, you can get good deals on returned cameras. Mine was brand new, but had been returned to Best Buy (everythign was still in it's orginal wrapper- they never even put the batteries in it!) and I got it for $75 less than shelf price. |

I have a Kodak Easy Share CX4230 and I got it about 4-5 years ago and it still works great! Its easy to use and has a display screen and very easy to put onto the computer. To print out you can buy a printer with it im sure (I only use it to put pictures on my computer) but the pictures come out very nice. I recommend it! |

One other thing to consider is zoom. Most early cameras had digital zoom. Many how have optical zoom. You want to try and get one with optical zoom rather than digital zoom. |
