Today November the 14th I took the proficiency test for Drivers Education! I'm so happy, and I'm praying that i passed so I ain't got to take the dang class. I ain't got time to take that class. Anyways, it was 2 1/2 hours long! The test admin talked for about an hour and told us to get to work. 200 QUESTIONS! I have to get 160 out of the 200 right to pass it. So I'm thinknig ahh no problem. Boy was I right, that test is mainly COMMON SENCE, whih apparently people at my school don't have a lot of, everyone was telling me it was so hard. Now takeing it today it seemed so easy,as long as you read the drivers handbook at least once you got it covered, I hope. I got 13 more questions to finish tommorrow. I'll finish them find out for score, hopefully I passe and go home, if I didn't pass I have to stay and taked that darned class. Well can't wait, oh by the way this is the North Carolinas Drivers ED. Test.

Date: 11/14/2005 7:47:00 PM  From Authorid: 16845    You have a test to get out of drivers ed? no fair!....man times have changed...and it wasn't that long ago for me!...
Date: 11/14/2005 7:48:00 PM  From Authorid: 35720    I didn't get any questions wrong on my Driver's Ed test.. but it wasn't 200 questions long.
Date: 11/14/2005 7:48:00 PM  From Authorid: 63026    becky in Ohio if your over 18 you dont have to take the drivers education, or the 50 hour driving. All u do is pass your written test, and then take your driving test.
Date: 11/14/2005 8:30:00 PM  From Authorid: 5886    If I remember right, in NJ here the written test was 90 questions long, and besides the drunk-driving laws, they were all common sense questions. 80% or above was passing, I managed to get a 93%. However, I'm far from the best driver out there!
Date: 11/14/2005 8:49:00 PM  From Authorid: 42945    over here in Australia, you try for your provisional license at aged 16 if I remember rightly and pass written test of 20 multiple questions only allowing 2 mistakes, you then have to have 50hrs driving lessons and experience in all types of conditions over so many months and then do a driving test....and you are right, the questions are commonsense questions and answers...*hugs*
Date: 11/15/2005 2:41:00 AM  From Authorid: 47296    Some insurance companies will not give the discount for just passing the test. They require that you actually take the the driver's ed class, which I think is a policy that all insurance companies should adopt. Anyone can study a book and pass a test, but there are things which are taught in drivers ed class, as well as practical applications that you learn that are not in the book. A person can quote the book the test is based on word for word, but that will not make them capable of operating an automobile. That is only learned under supervised application.
Date: 11/15/2005 5:25:00 AM  From Authorid: 63258    Good luck, MN. In Va., you need to take classroom course, study a booklet and pass a test given at the DMV (the results are instantaneous) to get your learner's permit. Then take a behind-the-wheel course and test and pass them both. Then a judge issues the license in a 'court' that is usually set up at a local high school. Or if you are 19 or older you can skip the behind-the-wheel class and just take the test for it. -KT
Date: 11/15/2005 1:58:00 PM  From Authorid: 37843    Good luck with that. IN doesn't have a test to take to get out of Driver's ed, but if you don't take it I think you have to wait till you're 18 to get your license. Driving is usually common sense.
Date: 11/15/2005 1:59:00 PM  From Authorid: 37843    Some of you have to take 50 hours of driving??? We have to have a total of 6 hours... yeah six as in the number of Mountain dews that come in a 6-pack... thats crazy how they can be so different from IN to Ohio
Date: 11/15/2005 6:55:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 62163    I only have to take 6 hours of driveing! Oh by the way I passed the test! 85%! 80 was passing. Now I'm just waiting to take the driveing part. - Mr.Nascar-
Date: 11/15/2005 7:12:00 PM  From Authorid: 63258    Congrats! Just relax and drive carefully. -KT
