You can't turn back the clock, but the future's unforetold
A twist upon life's journey that's a tale that won't grow old
Imagine if we could go back, what changes would you make?
And what would be the outcome, just another sad mistake?
I know we wish the best of things to come into our life
But the most important lessons learned, we often learn through strife
Imagine if we never failed or fell along the way
How could we then appreciate the good that comes to stay?
We then could not decipher the right things from the wrong
Life would be one sad, long note, and not a heartfelt song
We have to take the bad with good, our wrongs as well as right
We have to carry onward through the darkness to find light
Mistakes cannot be undone, they just can't be unmade
But if we learn our lessons well, mistakes can be aswayed
We must keep moving forward, we can't keep looking back
For if we're looking backward, we'll get stuck on the same track
Don't forget the things done wrong, but don't dwell in the past
For life is only fleeting, these things aren't meant to last
They come along to show us the things we shouldn't do
A lesson that is learned in time is a lesson tried and true
If we take life as it comes and look to better days
We'll find we can approach the bad in newer, better ways
And often skip the traumas, and troubles we trip through
For the past can't be forgotten, but the future's up to you
