A Stranger you were once
Then, with a gentle look you took my
hand
As our lives engaged,
you lit my life and I held both your hands
Now that decades have passed,

As a side not, I would like to add, this is a poem someone very close and special to me wrote for me. My g/f. The 5th was our 1 month anniversery, may not seem like a long time, but looking foward to many more years.
this is what she wrote at the bottom of the letter. This poem really tells the story how it is. It really touched me from the inside, made me think, you know I've actually found someone who is willing to get serious about a relationship. It's hard to find those types of people now a days. You may think I'm a emo guy, but I am, love is a need in my life.
" I love you so much, and there is nothing in this world that I wouldn't do for you. I want to spend the rest of life with you. Honestly, I've never given my heart to anyone cuz I've alwayz worried dat it would get stomped on. Well you have the key to my heart, and I need to know if I can trust you with it. I love you baby and always will. "
