Chain letters have been around almost since there has been mail delivery! There isn't a person over the age of 18 alive who hasn't gotten a chail letter either by snail mail or now email. I never keep them going, nor have I suffered tragic accidents and everything else they threaten if not kept going. *lol* If you want to know more about chain letters, go to: http://www.silcom.com/~barnowl/chain-letter/ evolution.html#s1-1introduction USMOM |
Date: 9/26/2005 5:12:00 PM From Authorid: 3835 I did some research on chain letters and how they first began to appear in the mail system. Ready for this?? I discovered that chain letters were first created by the postal service to get people to buy stamps, envelopes and paper. (At one time you had to get these three things from the post office only). Chain letters were created to begin the flow of mail, and income for this new forming operation at that time, that we all now take for granted to just being there for us. I do not fall for the chain letter contents these days. They only become what we believe them to become. I file them under my GIT bin. That is "goes in trash". (-: |
Date: 9/26/2005 5:15:00 PM From Authorid: 62675 I do forward insprational emails or funny ones but do not worry that if I don't send it to 20 people I will get nose warts or anything. I forawrd them more for their content. |
