*pouts* That Was Mean!! SunAngel

Hi guys

Well I was at the hair dresser on the weekend getting my hair done

I have been going to this hairdresser for years and know all the staff really well - they are all young and trendy and lots of fun

Anyway, I was sitting at the basin waiting to get the treatment washed out of my hair when i felt something fall softly on my lap. I looked down and it was a big hairy spider!!

I jumped up and started screaming, hitting myself all over, jumping up and down like a crazy person, still with the treatment in my hair, dripping all over the floor, towels flying everywhere!!!

The salon cracked up laughing ...... i realised that one of them had dropped a fake spider on my lap as they walked past!!!

So mean - i almost died of a heart attack!! They were laughing for ages .... apparently they've been doing it to alot of their regular clients.

*shivers* i hate spiders!!!!

Anyone played any mean jokes on you lately??

Date: 9/5/2005 4:39:00 PM  From Authorid: 36538    Not sure if everyone would see this as mean, but I thought it was lol. My very first week as a new teacher on Friday, I showed up at normal time. That's around 7:30. As soon as I got to the door another teacher told me that our principal was looking for me and I was in huge trouble. I was supposed to have been there at 7. I was freaking out. I was thinking geez, what a good start I'm having. Needless to say after I flipped out, the teacher told me that she was playing. It was just awful lol.
Date: 9/5/2005 4:39:00 PM  From Authorid: 23075    They'd onlly do it to me once. They'd be lpicking their butts and teeth up off the floor LOL....but it's mean...what if it causes someone to have a heart attack...then they'll really have a problem on their hands.

I felt the blood drain from my face and about collapsed from the terror and all it was, just an inflatable copperhead! My sis was laughing her butt off at me, lol!....NbN
Date: 9/5/2005 8:35:00 PM  From Authorid: 16845    LOL...man that was mean....
Date: 9/5/2005 8:55:00 PM  From Authorid: 62915    OMG that is so funny. Totally mean but the images of you running round the store liek a crazy person is just too funny. The worst part would be not knowing if it was poisonous or not lol
Date: 9/5/2005 11:54:00 PM  From Authorid: 63194    eh, dont think its mean, i think you should appreciate it. its not common that you go to a place where they become familiar withyou. appreciate the fact that they felt that they know you enough to be able to joke with you like that
Date: 9/6/2005 12:25:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 20956    very true author id 63194
Date: 9/6/2005 6:29:00 AM  From Authorid: 53900    I would be really ticked. That was exrememely unprofessional. I had something like this happen the other day. I was out mowing the lawn and there was this bug that must have been like three inches long and it flew onto my hand and just clung to me. I started shaking my hand and screaming and this bug just would not get off of me. It finally flew away again and I guess during this time my son heard me screaming and he thought it was the funniest thing in the world
Date: 9/6/2005 6:54:00 AM  From Authorid: 19772    Not being a huge fan of spiders I would have done the same thing, lol. But I guess you must be a pretty good customer if they all felt that they could do something like that to you without you getting too ticked off at them. ~Take Care~
Date: 9/6/2005 10:44:00 PM  From Authorid: 63194    "professional" or not jessica, it shows that they obviosly like her, and trust her enough that they can play with her, which to me, is more professional. i CANT stand it when people speak of what is profesional. professionalism cant come with out comfort, they have the comfort with the author so as to be able to play with her, and there fore, i think provide better service, especially at a personal level. However, i think you are right in the sense that if it were her first visit to the place that it would be unprofesional. HOLY i need to learn how to spell.
Date: 9/7/2005 3:33:00 AM  From Authorid: 53900    Well this is my opinion if I go to get my hair cut I dont want to be scared. This is something that should not be a stressful thing. At least in my eyes it isnt. I go and I want to be able to relax and get my hair done maybe chat with the stylist a little and not be scared half to death. When you run a business though you have the duty to keep a manner of professionalism and that does not include in my mind playing practical jokes on someone. That is appropriate maybe in the backroom with a coworker but not a customer. A customer should be treated with respect and although it might have seemed funny at the time probably wasnt the best idea. Everyone has a different idea of what is professional and whats not though and that to me wasnt professional
Date: 9/7/2005 4:09:00 PM  From Authorid: 63194    well in the end im sure the author is still going to go to the same place, and still have the kind of freind ship with the stylist that she will be able to "relax" proffesionalism does not come with out comfort, and comfort doesnt usually come without some kind of human interaction. playing is very professional if it keeps business coming
Date: 9/7/2005 5:12:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 20956    oh they are lovely people, i've been going to them for like 7 years. i know them all really well and they've become more like my friends than anything. so iam not offended my their actions or anything
Date: 9/7/2005 7:23:00 PM  From Authorid: 53900    OK well I was just saying how I WOULD FEEL. She may not feel it was inapproriate. I would. I dont go to a salon even when I know the person cutting my hair for something like that. I dont mind talking to them and hearing funny stories or them telling jokes or listening to music but I dont want to be embarrassed or scared by someone who I am paying for a service to be provided. It is the same as someone whom I would hire for any other service. I just dont feel it is appropriate. That doesnt really require a debate though it is just my feelings on the subject.
Date: 9/7/2005 7:44:00 PM  From Authorid: 63194    no, it doesnt require a debate, your rihgt. however, what is being payed for is the work done to the hair, the time before and after are fine for socializing, and for practical jokes...
Date: 9/8/2005 4:47:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 20956    thats fair enough Jessica, i dont blame you - i dont think i would like it if it were a new salon with people i didnt know very well and wasnt comfortable in
