Not sure if everyone would see this as mean, but I thought it was lol. My very first week as a new teacher on Friday, I showed up at normal time. That's around 7:30. As soon as I got to the door another teacher told me that our principal was looking for me and I was in huge trouble. I was supposed to have been there at 7. I was freaking out. I was thinking geez, what a good start I'm having. Needless to say after I flipped out, the teacher told me that she was playing. It was just awful lol. |

Wow, I'd find that very hard to laugh about if that'd been done to me, especially if it were a rubber scorpion--I'd die *shivers* When I was 16 my older sister told me there was a snake right behind me, we'd been outside playing a game. I felt the blood drain from my face and about collapsed from the terror and all it was, just an inflatable copperhead! My sis was laughing her butt off at me, lol!....NbN |

eh, dont think its mean, i think you should appreciate it. its not common that you go to a place where they become familiar withyou. appreciate the fact that they felt that they know you enough to be able to joke with you like that |

I would be really ticked. That was exrememely unprofessional. I had something like this happen the other day. I was out mowing the lawn and there was this bug that must have been like three inches long and it flew onto my hand and just clung to me. I started shaking my hand and screaming and this bug just would not get off of me. It finally flew away again and I guess during this time my son heard me screaming and he thought it was the funniest thing in the world |

Not being a huge fan of spiders I would have done the same thing, lol. But I guess you must be a pretty good customer if they all felt that they could do something like that to you without you getting too ticked off at them. ~Take Care~ |

"professional" or not jessica, it shows that they obviosly like her, and trust her enough that they can play with her, which to me, is more professional. i CANT stand it when people speak of what is profesional. professionalism cant come with out comfort, they have the comfort with the author so as to be able to play with her, and there fore, i think provide better service, especially at a personal level. However, i think you are right in the sense that if it were her first visit to the place that it would be unprofesional. HOLY i need to learn how to spell. |

Well this is my opinion if I go to get my hair cut I dont want to be scared. This is something that should not be a stressful thing. At least in my eyes it isnt. I go and I want to be able to relax and get my hair done maybe chat with the stylist a little and not be scared half to death. When you run a business though you have the duty to keep a manner of professionalism and that does not include in my mind playing practical jokes on someone. That is appropriate maybe in the backroom with a coworker but not a customer. A customer should be treated with respect and although it might have seemed funny at the time probably wasnt the best idea. Everyone has a different idea of what is professional and whats not though and that to me wasnt professional |

well in the end im sure the author is still going to go to the same place, and still have the kind of freind ship with the stylist that she will be able to "relax" proffesionalism does not come with out comfort, and comfort doesnt usually come without some kind of human interaction. playing is very professional if it keeps business coming |

OK well I was just saying how I WOULD FEEL. She may not feel it was inapproriate. I would. I dont go to a salon even when I know the person cutting my hair for something like that. I dont mind talking to them and hearing funny stories or them telling jokes or listening to music but I dont want to be embarrassed or scared by someone who I am paying for a service to be provided. It is the same as someone whom I would hire for any other service. I just dont feel it is appropriate. That doesnt really require a debate though it is just my feelings on the subject. |
Date: 9/7/2005 7:44:00 PM

no, it doesnt require a debate, your rihgt. however, what is being payed for is the work done to the hair, the time before and after are fine for socializing, and for practical jokes... |
