A dark night, the stars bright we sit outside under the vastness of the cosmos. Admiring the stars you point out your favorite constalation, Leo. Your finger points upwards into the never ending darkness, witch is suddendly replaced by a blinding light. You grab my arm and look into my eyes freazing my heart with your fear.
A ship silently stalks the ground on its ever slowing decent. Landing not far from us we see the abomanation slither from the ship. Green and red its colors swirled down its reptelen like body. Hissing into the air the reptile calls as his brothers in arms start to rain down apon us. Like a blanket falling over the stars, they start to grow drim and die out as the ships fill the sky.
It was only a small task to make it to the nearby house. Pulling you by the hand threw the door I kick it shut and slam the lock into place. Breathing hard we take a moment to gather ourselves. We look at each other and nod in agreement. Grabing the keys on the table and the small gun from a near by drawer we head out the front door. With the key only inches from the lock the top of the blue sadan crushes in under the weight of a full grown reptile.
Fire explodes from the end of my gun ripping the monsters face into two bloody halfs. With what looks like brains and green blood all over the windshield we clarify the flatened car useless. Handing you the pistol I replace it with the rifel looking wepon the creature died gripping.
The tree line was within a rock throw, but it might have well been the moon. Raising the newly aquired wepon I start to pull on what I thought to be the trigger. The destruction was emense, however it did little to stop the hoard of the savages. With little choice I grab your hand and start to run as if hell itself was to swallow us.
Using the gun as a surgical laser I cut threw the very torso of the hoard. Making our way over the mountian of miscellaneous body parts was very slow yet we never ciesed. With many wonds we stager up to the tree line only to be greated by a very unlikely allies.
The commander of the Russian tank bergade walks up to us. In a thick Russian accent, "Anyone who is comming this way gets shot, no matter the color of the uniform."
I protest, "But sir, we are mere civilins not soldiors."
He leans close to me, "You battle everyday for your life. You are in every way a soldier. Even if, an unsucessesful one. If you never face your fears you can never proceed."
"But I can't put her life in danger, I swore to protect her." I still protested.
He shakes his head, "I never said it would be fair. Now go."
An old wooden door takes shape out of the front of a large nearby tree. With hands firmly grasped we slowly make our way towards the door. I reach out and slowly open the door. The door said truth and our eyes opened.
Looking at you, I apoliges for not being able to protect you. As the reality sets in and it all starts to fade I realize what I feard most was waking up.
