What to Wear to a Winter Wedding? SunAngel

Hi all :)

Okay, I have a friends wedding next weekend and I went shopping in my lunch break to see if I could find something to wear.

The last few weddings I have been too I have worn a skirt (3/4 length) and some sort of top
Do you think it would be okay to wear blank pants? I have some really nice ones with the starch pleat running down the front and back (if you know what i mean - they're hot!!) and thought i'd just get a dressy top to wear with it. Is it wrong to wear black to a wedding?

See! Another good reason why winter sucks and why i want summer to hurry up and come back!!! If it were warm i'd wear a dress!!

thanks guys

sunny x

Date: 7/28/2005 9:34:00 PM  From Authorid: 3688    I generally wouldn't wear black to a wedding, but a pair of dressy slacks and a colorful top would be okay in my opinion. I think that something like that would be appropriate for a wedding, no point in freezing in a skirt/dress in winter!
Date: 7/28/2005 9:35:00 PM  From Authorid: 3688    a black pair of dressy pants I mean, as long as you're not in ALL black

Date: 7/28/2005 10:41:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 20956    thanks - yeah i would never wear all black, i hardly ever wear black to be honest (more of a white/colour person). probably go for a baby pink top, see how i go. Thanks guys
Date: 7/28/2005 11:34:00 PM  From Authorid: 42945    With a dressy coloured top, black pants would be nice Sunny, and remember that even though its winter time over here, its heated in the reception area, a warm coat for going to and from the wedding should be enough....hope you have a nice time hun....hugs
Date: 7/28/2005 11:43:00 PM  From Authorid: 53052    black dress pants are great for a wedding! with a nice smart dressy top the bride wont take offence if women wear pants as long as you rnot showing up in jeans

Date: 7/29/2005 12:39:00 AM  From Authorid: 53052    i actually think black pants are better then white or cream pants because you dont want to be wearing white if that makes any sense(or atleast white pants) i think cream and whites are meant for the bride or brides parents(common for the mother of the bride to wear cream suit of they dont wear a dress)
Date: 7/29/2005 9:33:00 AM  From Authorid: 24003    Nice pants would be fine
Date: 7/29/2005 2:21:00 PM  From Authorid: 16845    I wore all black to my siste rin law's wedding 2 weeks ago...not really intentionally but it was the only 'dress' clothes I had that still fit! (whole baby thing ya know...) Priest wasn't too pleased with my attire to say the least...LOL...after he found out WHY he cooled a bit....but asked hubby like 2 or 3 times if that was really why I wore what I wore..
Date: 7/31/2005 4:32:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 20956    Yeah, i have decided on black pants and on the Saturday i brought a really nice halter neck top in baby blue and camel.. thanks for your imput guys
