I do not know, but I hope you find your answers. I know it's hard if you find like a shade of lipstick you like and can't have it because of an ingredient. I hope you get better soon. |

ummm.... well, most skin allergies are actually caused by a histamine reaction in the skin... try picking up an anti-histamine product at your local wal-mart or target, they usually work. |

If she does, she has to get those that come in a little container. |

If I were you I`d keep a pack of Benedril in your purse...what you had was a SEVERe reaction like you said you KNEW..*spanks* The burning feeling can be taken away by soaking your digit in some warm ebsan-salts. I hope you get to feeling better |

Buy an aloe vera plant, they are easy to grow. When I was younger I had a lot of skin allergies, lucky for me I ourgrew them. My mother kept an aloe vera plant around for me to use, it's all natural unlike some of the over-the-counter stuff. You probably should go see a dermatolgist and get tested to see exactly what you are allergic to. |

When my grandaughter was born she came from the hospital screaming her little head off. Unfortunatly it took us a while to understand why she was suffering. She too is allergic to everything including her own saliva, so as she drooled her face and cheeks became inflamed and burned. She has a severe form of A-Topic Excema. The only relief that she has is in the form of a prescription cream named Elecon. It is a steroid but within moments she has relief. You also need to beware that when you try cosmetics on at a public place such as a dept. store you run the risk of transfering germs from the last person who used the cosmetic. There was a recent article about this and they concluded that these cosmetics are unclean and harbor bacteria and other nasty germs. Also, be careful of ingredients such as citrus acids in creams and lotions. I once used something that the Dr. recommended that I buy on my grandaughter and becasue it had alpha hydroxie in it she swelled uo and blistered, I nearly had to take her to the ER. Hope this helps. It's not a fun thing to suffer from this. |

Obi, i think i will try that; i already tried the aloe and it seems to relieve it somewhat, temporarily, but maybe a Benedryl cream will help. Thanks! |

Kiki i don't know what got into me!!! i wasn't even thinking. As far as the Benedryl, i actually used to have a necklace that had prescription allergy pills in it, with an emergency allergy inscription on it. It was never something i could get in the habit of wearing, though, and i haven't seen it in years. i should go to the doctor and get another one; i've had to go to the hospital several times when my throat closed up after eating something bad. In a situation like that, a pill probably wouldn't help anyways; i have to get injected with a muscle relaxant, but at least people would know what was happening and what to do. The benedryl in my purse would probably be a good start. |

Kelly, we did have an aloe vera plant when i was little-as soon as my roommate moves out in a month or 2, i will get one. Her cat eats any living plants that he comes in contact with! |

Pamy, that poor baby!! i hope she out grows this. i agree with you completely on not using sample cosmetics...i'm usually such a germ freak. That's why i put the stuff on my finger first instead of touching the applicator to my lips, and still knew i shouldn't be doing it. |

I had a problem back in high school, whenever I'd make hoagies for my chorus fundraisers. I couldn't handle the tomatoes or onions...my hands would break out in hives, and I'd get so itchy. I've had similiar problems with excessive sunlight, medicines, etc. Since you already know some of your triggers, I would avoid them at all costs, and use products that are hypo-allergenic (Soaps, creams, etc.) Second, keep Benadryl on hand in both pill and cream form (like a hydracortisone). The cream will take care of skin reaction, and not make you sleepy. If this problem is excessive, see your doctor for more advice, perhaps there is something else available for long-term relief. |
