My mom is making me crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! StarFire

OK, so....It's official. My mother is driving me batty. I realise she's my mom, and I'm supposed to love her. But, seriously, I don't think I do. She's made my life too much of a living hell for the last 25 years. And, why am I airing my dirty laundry here, for a bunch of people I don't know????? AAARRRGGGHHH Guess I really am fed up.

So, OK...She came to stay with me a few nights ago, and it was going to be just for one night. It's been 5 stinking days!!!! And she won't leave! All she does is sit around and cry about how the rest of the world is against her. Noone loves her. It's a conspiracy. We're all out to get her. Oh, AND there is this invisible person that sneaks in every night and does things to her while she's sleeping. The other day this imaginary "friend" cut her hair while she was sleeping???? Seriously, kids, don't do drugs. You end up like her. Trust me.

So, here I sit. Forced to leave my own house, because I can't stand to be around this person that has invaded my privacy. I can't take care of my kid, because she's even taken over there. Don't get me wrong. It's nice to not have to be responsible for EVERY aspect of his daily routine, but geez...I don't cook his food right, I don't wash him right, I don't change his diapers right. And I sure as heck don't put him to bed right. Did you know that it is "cruel" to make your child go to bed on thier own at night? I didn't.

Folks, she is mental. How do you get someone commited against thier own will? She needs to go away somewhere and get some help. I'm at a loss as to what to do. I've spent far too much time trying to get my life back on track for her to come in and mess it up now. I need to get rid of her. And I don't know how.

If anyone has any suggestions, let me know.

Date: 6/30/2005 2:08:00 PM  From Authorid: 30747    Sounds like a real problem. Are you an only child? Is there a sibling who could help with this? Does she have a home of her own? If she does, I would highly suggest she returns there before you really do lose your mind. I have lived with my mother as an adult before and I KNOW there is NO ONE in the world who can distroy us faster than a mother. Even when I was in my 30s she would tell me to turn on a light so I could see better. I know enough to turn on a flipping light if I need it! And why is it that when we try to parent our own kids as strictly as they did, they tell us we are being too harsh? Harsh was when she made me scrub the kitchen floor with a toothbrush because I accidentally dropped jelly on the floor not me yelling at my son for telling me to shut up. Geezz If I had done that as a child they would have had my tongue surgically removed or something. OMG don't get me started on evil mothers. (not that I don't love my mother either) *smiles*
Date: 6/30/2005 3:49:00 PM  From Authorid: 62100    My suggestion is this..you're an adult..she's an adult...you have a life to live, she's in the way of it. I realize you love her and you want to help but if it has become this much of a torture it is now time to say "Mom, I love you..but you need to leave now".
Date: 6/30/2005 11:25:00 PM  From Authorid: 12709    Wow. I know exactly how you feel. I don't even know where to BEGIN with telling you how crazy MY mom is. Seriously.. I'm not just saying that. I really think you should just tell her to go away.. as nicely as you could. I'm sorry I can't be a better help, but that's probably the best thing you could do. SHE'S the one being rude for wearing out her welcome, so it's perfectly reasonable for you to tell her to bug off.
Date: 7/1/2005 7:45:00 AM  From Authorid: 12006    Face it, she's a mom and most moms are crazy. Mine used to punch me when I had fainting spells as a kid and made me wear the exact same frilly outfits in public as my sisters that are 6 years younger than me until I was 14. She also embarrasses me like no other person possibly could because she acts horribly to people in public. What can I say? Just tell your mom to go.
Date: 7/1/2005 8:28:00 AM  From Authorid: 17560    She may be driving you crazy now but believe me, someday you will miss that when she's not around anymore.
Date: 7/1/2005 4:33:00 PM  From Authorid: 12709    I don't want to be a mom. I'm worried I'LL turn crazy too. lol.
