Date: 6/13/2005 9:47:00 PM From Authorid: 57232 randomly add and delete stuff, like French Onions that you put on Green Bean Casseroles, that adds a crunch, sweet onions are cool too, even if you aren't an onion fan. Sometimes leave cucumbers out, sometimes add them in. I love Ginger salad dressing and I found a brand that actually makes a decent ginger, have to go to the fridge for the brand... |

Date: 6/13/2005 10:18:00 PM From Authorid: 63042 Caprese Tower salad: Sliced tomatoes, sliced fresh mozzerella (found in the gourmet cheese section, make sure it says 'fresh mozzerella' on the plastic label) and fresh basil leaves. drizzle it all with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Sounds a little odd, but is awesome! -asylem_supastar |

I've got a Greek Pasta Salad Recipe from the American Heart Association web site: Serves 8 1 cup per serving; 280 calories 43 g carbohydrates 6 g fat Ingredients; 1 12 oz. pk. tri-color rotini pasta (Doesn't have to be tri-color but looks appealing) 2/3 cup diced cucumber 1/2 cp thinly sliced green onion 4 oz. Feta Cheese 1 1/4 cp frozen baby peas, no salt added, defrosted 1 cp diced red bell pepper 1/4 cp light reduced-calorie mayonnaise 1/2 low-fat cottage cheese 1/2 cp plain nonfat yogurt 1 to 2 Tablespoons chopped fresh dill 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper ___________________________________________ Preparation; Cook pasta in boiling water for 7 minutes.. Remove from heat, drain, and place in large bowl. Add cucumber, 1/2 cp green onions, feta cheese, peas and bell pepper. Set aside. In a blender or a food processor fitted with metal blade, combine mayonnaise, cottage cheese and yogurt. Process or mix until completely smooth. Add dill and black pepper. Pour over pasta mixture and stir to mix well. Cover and refridgerate until well chilled. It's good but I always cheated and adde extra cheese. |
