Walking down a leaf-strewn path Hands stuffed into my sweater A single tear falls down my naked face My eyes sting with the windy weather
A solemn smile crosses my face I'm back where I once was I used to come here all the time I bow my head much as a tulip does
I carefully side-step stone As I make my way to my destination My thoughts frozen, unmoving, and solid I give in to my temptation
I finally come to my willow tree Where I used to sit to watch Watch the trees, what the grass, watch the people walk by, watch the clouds Anything that moved, I'd watch
Now I sit underneath my tree Remember why I stopped coming "Because I'm too old for such stupidity." "Because it doesn't fit with the woman I'm becoming."
I swear to never stop coming again I love this park too well I get too caught up with work, and bills, and money Without some release, life is worse than hell
If I could give one piece of advice I guess my advice would be this Never pass up the chance to relax, take a break from the norm Never pass up the chance for a piece of bliss
