Date: 3/9/2005 7:24:00 PM From Authorid: 24319 Neither have I. The name alone is a total turn off. |
Date: 3/9/2005 7:26:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 52155 You do need to be careful to not add to much salt, you don't want it to have a salty taste. |

From Authorid: 52155
or so I have heard |
Date: 3/9/2005 7:27:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 52155 and you must be sure to take good care of your eddoes during preparation, as you don't want to bruise them |
Date: 3/9/2005 7:28:00 PM From Authorid: 24319 Uh... yeah.. |
Date: 3/9/2005 7:35:00 PM From Authorid: 24319 I like to beat my eddoes. Makes me feel good about myself. |
Date: 3/9/2005 7:40:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 52155 I hope the PETV people jump you about that... how rude... |

Date: 3/9/2005 7:52:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 52155 I may try it someday, but I am really not much of a fan of any kind of soup... |
Date: 3/9/2005 7:58:00 PM From Authorid: 38751 gross , i just googled it and an "eddo" is an edible starchy tuberous root of taro plants...i think i might give this soup a miss |
Date: 3/9/2005 8:18:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 52155 I wonder if it is really enough to serve 4? Seems kinda small to me... |
Date: 3/9/2005 8:22:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 52155 I have been told that the eddo root tastes like a potato. So, form what I gather, this would be like Cream of Potato soup. |
Date: 3/9/2005 8:22:00 PM From Authorid: 24319 It's not the size of the serving that counts.. |
Date: 3/9/2005 8:23:00 PM From Authorid: 53836 I have no eddos on hand so I guess I'll have to use potatoes instead...*sigh* |
Date: 3/9/2005 8:23:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 52155 really Carrie? If it is good, only a small serving would leave one wanting more, but if it is bad, then I guess you wouldn't want to have to much, huh? |
Date: 3/9/2005 8:24:00 PM From Authorid: 62998 just say no! ok... NO to EDDO soup.... OMG probably smells like FEET! LOL =p - Typo Demon |

Date: 3/9/2005 8:26:00 PM From Authorid: 53836 LOL @ Typo Maybe coffee soup instead? |
Date: 3/9/2005 8:27:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 52155 Tuber, huh? hmmmm. I don't think so. :P |
Date: 3/9/2005 8:27:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 52155 I wonder what it does smell like Typo. I would hope that it doesn't smell like feet, no one would ever want to try it. |
Date: 3/9/2005 8:28:00 PM From Authorid: 62998 Coffee soup? ummmm no! LOL - Typo Demon |

Date: 3/10/2005 6:39:00 AM From Authorid: 12118 Oh..I thought that before you diced and peeled the Eddo you had to take a mallet and tenderize it first. Hmm. |

Date: 3/10/2005 8:47:00 AM From Authorid: 59876 i made this the other day and found it a little bland. it would taste much better with a little freshly ground truckofbcar on top. |
Date: 3/10/2005 10:01:00 AM From Authorid: 46527 I always wondered what you'd actually DO with an eddo! LOL! |
Date: 3/10/2005 10:45:00 AM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 52155 ohhh, Doh, that does sound good! |
Date: 3/10/2005 11:55:00 AM From Authorid: 59876 i knew you'd like that sweetie. that would really spice things up eh? |
Date: 8/15/2005 6:38:00 PM From Authorid: 14572 Salty?? lol.. Well I found Eddo, at my local grocery store..It was quite expensive, and to be honest, it didnt measure up...LOL.. And it didnt last long either.. Maybe and hour then it spoiled.. ...LOL |
Date: 8/15/2005 7:12:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 52155 got a whole hour outta it, huh? I never seem to get more than about 15 minutes out in the open before it goes bad. |
Date: 8/15/2005 7:22:00 PM From Authorid: 14572 Ohhhhh yeah ladies, make sure you wash it first, even though it says it comes clean.. I hardly doubt it..God, only knows who touched it before you did..LOL |
Date: 8/15/2005 7:22:00 PM From Authorid: 14572 LMAO..only 15 minutes??? well I guess I was one of the lucky ones then huh...lol.. See, you need to peel the eddo slow...maybe thats where you went wrong..Handeling it gently.. You cant just go, putting it in and out in and out....of the sink....LOL :P |
Date: 8/15/2005 7:31:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 52155 ^^she's got a point- no telling who touched it in the store. Not that eddo's are very popular, but you gotta remember- That old lady that just sneezed in her hand may have just been handling that very eddo you want to buy. MAKE SURE IT IS CLEAN BEFORE CONSUMPTION! |
Date: 8/15/2005 7:38:00 PM From Authorid: 14572 the disease does NOT come form the actual Eddo itslef...Just from its handelers...LOL |
Date: 8/15/2005 7:38:00 PM From Authorid: 14572 Clean it, disinfect it, boil it, first, before you consume it.. Take our warning seriously..You wouldn't want some foreign flesh eating ghona-herp-a-sphyllitus... I completely disinfected it before I used it..And I am ok.. |
Date: 8/15/2005 7:41:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 52155 ^^very true. Eddos are actually a very clean vegatable. It is only those that touch it (and often repeatedly) that get it full of disease and such. Clean it, and it wil be ok. not sure that boiling it is neccessary though... |
Date: 8/15/2005 7:42:00 PM From Authorid: 14572 LOL@all my typo's... |
Date: 8/15/2005 7:47:00 PM From Authorid: 14572 Eddo, it is those repeat "touchers" that I too am worried about.. BTW, you were wrong when you said I would find Eddo's in the produce section...I found them in the femine product isle... Maybe they were just left there by some "toucher" who realized that she could not afford for them to be hers... Either way, I bought the 2 I found there... I may need to go buy more though...As we said they dont last long...LOL |
Date: 10/28/2006 12:20:00 PM From Authorid: 62881 This is bad on so many levels! LMAO! |
