tonight I will wake up to another world

I will lift my soul above and fly away

I will reach beyond myself, further away

I will shatter my reality and break through-

shards of me still alive, still awake,

still waiting to be freed

still hoping to be captured on the other side

suddenly I hear it scream my name

and I'd leave soon, too soon

for I lingered in the shadows

now I linger in the darkness

in a brighter shade of grey
