This is so heartfelt and sad..no matter how surrounded we may seem, sometimes we find who our true friends really are in the darkest moments that you have described Alexis..and it wrenches at us when we feel as if we have noone and that those "friendships" are so superficial...I feel your pain and I wish that I could stretch through this computer and hug it away!! I feel this way almost every darn day of my life. There are givers and there are takers and very rarely there is balance. I think I am naturally a giver, seeking balance. Givers are attracted to takers and vice versa. The solution is to try to find balance. Balance that never seems to present itself or when it does, you're too busy giving to a taker to recognize it and wow, I am so sorry for hijacking your post...  |
