Its late night with no sound near, Waiting for my dreams to vividly appear. Head pressed down against the cold pillow, Closed eyes set the scenery to be mellow.
I pray internally for another chance, I pray to the Lord tomorrow I may glance. These hardships I take to live with, Walking on legs that are weak and stiff.
Asking for a way from all this to be lift, To a better place of a humble harmonizing drift. So that along its breeze I may peacefully glide, A winner as long as I believe the Lord is on my side.
My right hand slides beneath the pillowcase, Gently brushing against the chrome, my heart began to race. My eyes shut tighter in preparation within a meditation, The hands of time slow dancing, adding on to this frustration.
In my head it was a cluster of thoughts that took to steer, In the wake of the morning, all previous dreams are known to disappear. Blooded tears dripping the more sorrow my heart feels, My mind spinning with confusion in wondering how the surface peels.
Eyes remain sealed from any coming light, Curious to what dream appears tonight. The night keeper watching over me as I sleep, My foes sending prayers that I remain in a deep sleep.
Gripping the chrome tightly I pray for more, Protection and love I believe I asked God for. Finger on the trigger as I hear squeaks on the first floor, Tip toeing away from my blankets, nearer to the door.
It was as if they wanted me to know, Creeping up my stairs, I debated whether to stay or go. It was a full moon…I had to let out a roar, And the bullets from both ends began to soar.
A tear followed every fatal shot, A prayer was said, my signature after the dot. The place quickly became a war zone, Wondering where in my life did I go wrong?
It was I who had the scene in a grip, My enemy’s blood over my pages began to drip. Couldn’t read the story no more…it was a smear, Then a voice spoke so clearly to hear.
Told me to continue what I was doing, I was assured that I was not alone dueling. More voices were heard around my area, I asked permission before I crossed the barrier.
Lord if I had a chance to turn my life back, Knowledge from this living I wish to lack. More free in this world wisdom would guarantee, But my Lord I can’t take it no more…I wish to flee.
My head is twirling quicker than ever before, The devil grinning as this night turned to be no bore. I was ready to carry out what had been prior planned, On my knees I fall, my whole life from happiness I was banned.
Now it’s my turn to reveal what needs to be shown, This moment the reason they demanded I be born. The bullets took their toll and I was left all alone, No one near any more…it was clear I was done.
My shirt torn from blood spills and knife swipes, A devastating site it was, no more stupid fights. It was all finally over, no more acidic tears followed by screeching screams, Laid my head back on the pillow…with hidden watered eyes…I waited for my dreams.
