I'm just curious to know...or if there is someone out there that knows......If a parent has 0+ blood and the other parent has A+ blood...how is it that the child can have 0- blood. I have been trying to find this answer for years now..and I can't seem to find anyone tht will tell me or can tell me where I can find the info.

I have spoken to a dr. and they say....this particular doctor said...there is no way possible.....

So if there is someone here that knows or can find out...could you please let me know..

I'd appreciate it so much.

Date: 2/15/2005 10:28:00 AM  From Authorid: 62998    basic chemistry will tell you that is not possible. so A. the test was wrong on one parent, B. the test wrong on the child. or C. one the parent's isnt a biological parent. - Typo Demon
Date: 2/15/2005 10:30:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 23075    TypoDemon...they are the biological parents....the mother has 0+ the father has A+ adn the child has 0-.....
Date: 2/15/2005 10:31:00 AM  From Authorid: 62998    then the tests were done incorrectly is all. - Typo Demon (yes that does happen)
Date: 2/15/2005 10:33:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 23075    So it can happen...then it just isn't very common
Date: 2/15/2005 10:33:00 AM  From Authorid: 62998    accuracy of blood tests is not 100%, when there is a need for it, DNA testing is best. - Typo Demon
Date: 2/15/2005 10:34:00 AM  From Authorid: 18527    IT's possible... O type is represented as ii and A can be AA or Ai so you could have an O type from an A and an O. Same with RH, you could have Rh+Rh+ or Rh-Rh- so assuming one parent is iRh+iRh- and the other is ARh-iRh+ you have iRh-iRh-...

Date: 2/15/2005 10:35:00 AM  From Authorid: 18527    On the left there is a bar that has a Blood/Rh calculator. Plug in the blood and Rh factor and you get the possible outcome...
Date: 2/15/2005 10:40:00 AM  From Authorid: 62998    very interesting, I have never seen that before. Thanks Kethria - Typo Demon
Date: 2/15/2005 11:10:00 AM  From Authorid: 15157    I thought that Type O was the universal blood type so I would have been worried if the child had B and neither parent matched.

Date: 2/15/2005 11:51:00 AM  From Authorid: 19220    As far as I know, it isn't possible for a child to have neg blood when both parents have pos.
Date: 2/15/2005 12:05:00 PM  From Authorid: 40741    maybe the parent isnt who u think it is
Date: 2/15/2005 12:14:00 PM  From Authorid: 18527    nope, negative is recessive, so if you had 2 negative parents, it is impossible to have a positive child, but 2 positives can produce a negative.
Date: 2/15/2005 2:10:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 23075    Little Jen. I am the parent..she is my daughter.....so it's who I think it is...thanks Kethria I'm gonna check it out right now.
