Day of love filled with confusion,
Marked with efforts of resistance,
A home that seems like an illusion,
Guarded hearts keeping safe distance,
Candy and cards as tokens of affection,
Left in places for paths to cross,
Just a hint of warmth for detection,
No recognition of love thats lost,
Bonds unravel in hearts and mind,
Days filled with polite tone,
Avoiding encounters of ties that bind,
And possibilities of life alone,
It melts to scenes becoming surreal,
Like movie film that slowly burns,
Doing things to refuse to feel,
And cautious at the twists and turns.
