RAISIN - FILLED CEREAL BARS

Raisin filling (recipe follows)

3/4 cup butter or margarine, softened

1 cup packed brown sugar

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1 1/2 cups granola cereal

Prepare Raisin Filling; cool. Cream butter and sugar. Stir together flour and soda Add to creamed mixture with granola; mix well. (Mixture will be crumbly.) Pat half into greased and floured 13 by 9 by 2 inch baking pan. Spread with filling. Add 1 tablespoon water to remaining crumb mixture; sprinkle atop filling. Lightly press with hand. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. Cut into bars while warm.

makes 32 bars.

RAISIN FILLING: Mix 1/2 cup granulated sugar and 1 tablespoons cornstarch. Stir in 2 cups raisins and 1 cup water. Cook and stir over medium heat till thickened and bubbly. Remove from heat; stir in 2 tablespoons lemon juice.
