PEACH - BANANA BARS

3/4 cup packed brown sugar

1/2 cup margarine or butter, softened

1 jar (12 ounces) peach preserves

2 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup mashed mananas (about 2 medium)

1/2 cup chopped pecans

Peach Glaze (recipe follows)

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour jelly roll pan, 15 1/2 by 10 1/2 by 1 inch. Mix brown sugar and margarine. Reserve 2 tablespoons of the preserves. Stir remaining preserves, the eggs and vanilla into brown sugar mixture. Stir in remaining ingredients except Peach Glaze until dry ingredients are moistened. Spread in pan.

Bake until golden brown, about 30 minutes. Spread with Peach Glaze while silghtly warm. Cool completely before cutting. Cut into 3 by 1 inch bars.

50 bars.

PEACH GLAZE: Mix 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons reserved preserves and 1 tablespoon water until smooth and of desired consistency.
