Today when I got off work, I was driving through the parking lot in the back of the restaurant, because the employees have to park behind the store. This parking lot has other businesses, and I went down one of the rows, and attempted to turn left, and I hit an old woman coming out of one of the stores. I didn't even see the lady coming. Her head hit the side of my car and she fell down. A worker was walking behind her carrying bird seed for her, and he fell on her. She had a cut lip, a bruise above her right eye that was also cut and bleeding, and a little scrape on her left cheek. I felt so bad! I still feel bad. I cannot believe I hit someone, especially an old lady! She was really nice, though. She said it was ok, because it was an accident, and accidents happen. She didn't press charges. I am so thankful for that, but I still feel like crap. The EMT's and cops were really nice, too. I started crying though, because of what I did. Now, I'm going to make sure I'm more aware of things before turning. The only thing is, I was a little behind on my insurance, so I got a ticket for that, which I know is completely my fault for not taking care of it when I should.
