Hon, I don't know about that med at all except for a few that were on it and maybe they can reply to your post to offere advice? I know meds can be meant for 1 thing and be used for other illnesses too. I take a drug meant for epilepsy but I take it for nerve damage and it helps it. Don't think you have a psychosis just because you take that drug, unless the doctors say you have it. Okay?

ugh, I know exactly what you mean. I suffer OCD, and anxiety..with slight depression. Dr. put me on Effexor, so far so good. Feel like "me" again. Best of luck to you (hugs)  |

Many times meds can be used for different types of problems. Just ask your doctor or your pharmacist if you want to make sure. If the drug is causing you to have problems consult your doctor for that also. I don't recommend stopping a drug cold turkey without the docs advice because sometimes that can cause worse problems than the current ones you have. Take care...Barbara/Green Eyed Froggy  |

Risperidal? I was on that for paranoia. I like it.. *shrug* It made me feel tingly. How much of a dose are you taking? Anything more than 1mg is too much for someone not suffering from serious disorders such as schizophrenia, so I've been told. The medicine I take now at night, Seroquel (<33).. it's the best.. it puts me right to sleep and it works the same as Risperidal. Ask your doctor about that.. I'd rather take Seroquel than Risperidal anyday.  |

Okay, here's what I know about this Hunny. I have several different disorders. Risperadol sometimes it can be used for different things. Here are some things: Borderline Personality Disorder, which is where you can love and hate at the same time, a mixed emotion, that is always carried. It can also be perscribed for people who have suicidal thoughts, burn or cut themselves. It's also used if you are Bi-Polar, Insomnia, and supposed to suppress some moods, make them even. Also sometimes, but not always helps with anxiety and Panic attacks/Anxiety attacks. I was on a drug that is in the same class called Seroquel, and honestly it did nothing for me, and as you, I am in the same spot you are in now. I have also been on several anti-depressants, and anti-psychotic drugs, and only been on two different anxiety medicines, the Doctors try to stay away from them cause though they do work well, most are very addictive.
