Date: 1/13/2005 2:07:00 PM From Authorid: 13119 Yep you get it, kinda, see, some of the other religions get up in arms at times too. so it is basically a huge jug **** that ends up in hurt feelings. |
Date: 1/13/2005 2:09:00 PM From Authorid: 37101 Congratulations, you've just complete a stereotype. You must be so proud. You might want to tackle trying to take things on an individual basis next time you try and rationalize something. - |
Date: 1/13/2005 2:11:00 PM From Authorid: 15675 kinda...yes a lot of Christians tend to think that way BUT not all Christians do so please remember some Christians are good people ! I do agree though like those morons protesting gay marriage and I seen a sign that said 'obey the bible'...umm okay u can obey it all you want but it CANT be law! How would they feel if some other religions holy book was law and their religion was running the place? They wouldnt like it LOL! Just for the record even if Wicca was the major religion if I wouldnt enjoy it, religion and public (state whatever) should be seperate... |

Date: 1/13/2005 2:24:00 PM From Authorid: 54461 You have a nice post here, its what the World believes anymore. So the world will love it. Christians wont, but the World will. Its true, us Christians tend to over react, but you know, its only because we love our God. And we dont always bash other religions, we say there are incorrect, but it doesnt mean we are bashing them. God is wonderful, and he is true. Other Religions will slander the Christian faith as well. Spiritualist will, Islam will, Hinduism will, and so on and so forth. God bless u, and thanks for posting such a worldy post. |
Date: 1/13/2005 2:25:00 PM From Authorid: 57579 yup you've pretty much got it |
Date: 1/13/2005 2:29:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704 so when a person of another religion tells a Christian they're incorrect KJ, why are they persecuting them? Remember the saints KJ |

Date: 1/13/2005 2:30:00 PM From Authorid: 15675 LOL oh I know Base well I was flying on my broom to meet Satan and this one demon popped out and...LOL nah I had to tease ! KJ that made little sense. Sure people of those faiths may bash but to be fair from what I have seen (in America) it seems to go this way: Christians offend the people of other religions and thus the less mature ones retaliate and offend them back...Honestly some of the right winged Christians can be quite offensive and spread filth that would make Jesus himself sad! But I still wont say ALL Christians are bad, some are just naive, and some are good. That goes for ALL religions at that ! |

Date: 1/13/2005 3:09:00 PM From Authorid: 16671 LOL yep that just about sums it up. NOT. Sure Christians try to correct something when a post is brought up, if their beliefs are differernt , as each different religiouse party tries to get their *truths* in there. However its not any different then a christian putting up a post and everyone else trying to *correct* their beliefs. To the christian faith, yes, I guess in some ways we would say were persected by the non beleiver as we get called everything from Liars to stupid. I mean lets not debate the facts of the religion or something like that, just call us stupid. That works for them. And yes, In our faith, we beleive that those that are not believers in God are under the authority of satan, plain and simple. |
Date: 1/13/2005 3:15:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704 and saying someone is under the authority of Satan, which carries a negative connotation is any better than someone calling a Christian a liar, how FB? |
Date: 1/13/2005 3:16:00 PM From Authorid: 1799 well... not all christians. |
Date: 1/13/2005 3:28:00 PM From Authorid: 16671 WEll base never said it sounded better. But so many christians sugar coat what God has to say. But according to HIS word, We were born under the authority of satan, ALL of us. But that this is why Jesus came, so that we can ONCE again make a choice of whose authority we wished to be under. I choose to be under the authority of God. Now sure there are those that dont beleive in satan, or hell, or even the bible as the word of God, but I figure thats their problem not mine. Because I do beleive in God, therefore I need to beleive in what He says. Now if I were of a differernt religion, Im sure it would be the same thing, as some beleive the USA is the great satan and dont mind calling us that. Some believe that you shouldnt go to doctors , or have birthdays or holiday, even some beleive they are going to this great planet called Kolob and have spritiual babies the rest of their lives. NOW if a Christian of another denomination tells me that, of course I'm going to use the bible as refference and tell them where I think they are wrong. Just as they will and have done to me. Besides I'm thinking if a person doesnt beleive in hell or satan, then I can't see how they can or should be offended. |
Date: 1/13/2005 3:30:00 PM From Authorid: 16671 And you would figure as many times as I spell Believe, that I'd STOP putting that e before the I. |
Date: 1/13/2005 3:36:00 PM From Authorid: 16671 Take Kaja for example, even before I responded to this post, She of course jokes that she hates Jesus and eats babies, well yes I know she is half way joking there, but see christians dont believe that those that are not beleivers of jesus hate him or that they eat babies. YET in her comment above she says, Those MORONs protesting gay marriages. So see what I mean, with attitudes like that is it any wonder we say some of the things we say, which to us are FACTS of our religion. Just for the record kaja, the bible does say in the end times there will be a one world religion and it wont be Christian, so yes, we will have that also. Only difference will be that Christians will be killed for not accepting this new religion. |
Date: 1/13/2005 3:40:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704 Regardless of whether someone believes in Satan or not the negative connotation remains. To say someone is demon possessed or follows Satan whether you believe it to be true or not is no different than any other name calling or slight when you get right down to it. |
Date: 1/13/2005 3:40:00 PM From Authorid: 35720 *shrug* Whatever, religion irritates me altogether. |
Date: 1/13/2005 3:41:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704 The bible does say in the end times there will be a one world religion and it wont be Christian...interesting FB because Christianity is the largest religion in the world and the largest growing. So, that either means we're nowhere near the end times or this brand of Christianity is false. |
Date: 1/13/2005 3:44:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704 And FB as far as Christians know they don't eat babies, actually there are many who believe they do, morons was uncalled for though. |
Date: 1/13/2005 3:47:00 PM From Authorid: 19220 Yep you got it. |
Date: 1/13/2005 3:53:00 PM From Authorid: 35720 Nobody is a moron for practicing their own beliefs. |
Date: 1/13/2005 3:55:00 PM From Authorid: 16671 I guess its not much different. However We usually try to avoid saying that because it does tiss people off.But it still doesnt stop some. I guess its as my grandma would say, six of one and half a dozen of the other, as what goes around comes around. Christianity is one of the largest at this time, but if you look around you, anything to do with christianity is slowly trying to be stifled out of all walks of life. I have to cook supper so dont have time to go into all of it right now, but will try to get back to this post after supper. Yes, there are some that do believe they eat babies. I'll give you that. LOL Be back soon. I know I know you just wanted to give me something to do today. |
Date: 1/13/2005 4:00:00 PM From Authorid: 15675 Firstborn I was making a joke and Base is right: sadly there are some (mostly fanatics) out there who actually BELIEVE the things I said! When I said morons let me restate that: ignorant is more the word I want because maybe their not stupid but I do believe their either not informed or naive...so I apologize for that. I was teasing about the stereotypes because I know they are just that: stereotypes. If youd read any of my other replies I think you'd know I respected Christianity HIGHLY as I do for most religions...I may not support all the followers of all the religions (I doubt anyone does really) but Im not out to bash them...LOL Base! |
Date: 1/13/2005 4:13:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704 But how does it being the largest and fastest growing have anything to do with it being "stifled." The Bible said it would be one world religion and it wouldn't be Christian. So like I said that either means we're nowhere near the end times like some belive or this form of Christianity is the false religion, "stifling" it as you claim hasn't stopped its growth. You know I live to entertain you FB lol |

Kaja, This is where the bashing comes in...You stated the following.."I do agree though like those morons protesting gay marriage"..Calling people "morons" is bashing..Saying that you do not agree with those who do not believe in gay marriages is not bashing, but an honest opinion in which you would be entitled to. If a believer in God would state they do not believe in homosexuality, then that is an opinion which they are entitled to, but if this believer would state things such as "Those who are homosexuals are morons and idiots and they will burn in h*ll", then that is bashing. Bashing is not using a belief system in an attempt to show error, but bashing is when one condemns someone in a rude and uncaring manner. On USM and in most other places, bashing comes from all sides. |
Date: 1/13/2005 6:00:00 PM From Authorid: 15675 RUSure you must have missed my follow up reply: I apologized I used the wrong word. Sorry sometimes I just get so annoyed by ignorance I cant always be PC. But I did say that was wrong so I hope people can get past it |
Date: 1/13/2005 6:17:00 PM From Authorid: 3125 Kaja, My point really was to show the difference in "bashing" and in giving opinions based on beliefs. Too many times some seem to think they are being "bashed" when all the other person is doing is stating their honest opinion based on their beliefs. I have been accused of "bashing" several times, but I don't see it that way. To me, bashing is done by using unnecessary rude words. |
Date: 1/13/2005 6:24:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704 Ms. Morality I don't know your ID so I can't message you, but I'm trying to get your comments back. |
Date: 1/13/2005 7:04:00 PM From Authorid: 54461 Okay now why must the admins be so rough and delete the replies. Nothing was bad, it was all truth. |
Date: 1/13/2005 7:13:00 PM From Authorid: 30742 Base, I rest my case, it really is just a classic example of how intolerant people are of the Christian faith. One of the replies I left were the words of Jesus Christ, who was God in the flesh 2000 yrs. ago. The religious and non-religious at the time hated Christ so much they sentenced Him to death, he commited no crime, He warned of the coming judgement and how to be saved, people did not want to listen, 2000 years later, I reply with a statement made from Christ and it gets deleated.. Crazy queen makes statements like "way BUT not all Christians do so please remember some Christians are good people ! I do agree though like those morons protesting gay marriage and I seen a sign that said 'obey the bible'.." and thats not bashing? I thank you for your attempts to have my comments back, but it really just proves how intolerant people are to Christ and those who follow His teachings. |
Date: 1/13/2005 7:20:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704 I deleted your comments Ms. Morality not an admin. I read the first hadn't read the second, don't ask, just give me the idiot of the day award and we can move on lol I am still trying to get them back though. |
Date: 1/13/2005 7:36:00 PM From Authorid: 16671 Kaja, to me that has been around you and knows you better, of course I know about teasing but to those that dont know you, it looks kind of bad. I know your not one that bashes them, but by reading your comments other wouldnt know that. Just as those that dont know me reads some of my comments and thinks that I'm totally fanatical. BASE:: Most people think because differnt signs pop up that the end is right now, in the next day or so, or year or so. I do beleive were in the beginning of sorrows, how long it last no one can really know. No stifling has not stopped its growth so far, but it will in time. God says faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. So if the faith isnt being heard in anything, no gospel songs, no pledge, no ten commandements, then lots of could or would be christians are not moved by any faith, cause its not going to be found. I knew you lived to entertain me and you do a right fine job. I give you a B plus. |
Date: 1/13/2005 7:41:00 PM From Authorid: 16671 Also Kaja, you in your next reply says you get annoyed by ignorance. And see that is bashing to. AS if I were to say, I get so annoyed at wiccan or any other religions ignornace, that would be bashing. What makes you so sure they or we Christians are ignornant in these ideas of ours, about gay marriage or abortion, or even witchcraft? When in fact you may be the ignorant one? You say we dont have proof postive, yet your thinking all your ideas and thoughts MUST be proof postive so you basically call us ignorant. When you have proof postive then maybe you can say that. This is what I mean, we get called ignorant, stupid, morons , liars. No, no one can always be PC, but they can watch the way they say things. |
Date: 1/13/2005 7:44:00 PM From Authorid: 16671 I agree with barb and ms. morality. Stating ones fact or opinion based on their knowledge of their religion is not bashing, its stateing what we believe to be fact, but yes, words like moron, ignornant are not stating ANY fact, just being rude. |
Date: 1/13/2005 8:04:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704 From Authorid: 30742 This post should read Christian bashing good......No, I don't see any Christian persecution here on USM, just people who seem to dislike our God and His Holy Word. |
Date: 1/13/2005 8:05:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704 From Authorid: 30742 "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God did not send his Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it. "There is no judgment awaiting those who trust him. But those who do not trust him have already been judged for not believing in the only Son of God. Their judgment is based on this fact: The light from heaven came into the world, but they loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil. They hate the light because they want to sin in the darkness. They stay away from the light for fear their sins will be exposed and they will be punished. But those who do what is right come to the light gladly, so everyone can see that they are doing what God wants." ( NLT) John 3:16-21 |
Date: 1/13/2005 8:25:00 PM From Authorid: 62801 Hmmm...Kaja, I don't see why people that protest gay marriage have to be "morons" or "ignorant." Aren't you a wiccan? I wouldn't say that All Christians are like this.. but i have noticed that for the most part it's true. It's also true of any other groups that have strong beliefs in a subject..There are always going to be the ones to spread the truth, the one's that just follow, and the one's that Take things too far. I think it works both ways regardless of the subject.. As long as we have strong views on seprate ends of the line. |

Oh, I have a little info about the "one world religion" Christianity IS currently the largest religion in the world. It is followed by about 33% of all people -- a percentage that has remained stable for decades. Estimates of the total number of Muslims range 1.2 billion worldwide and 7 million in the U.S. About 21% of all people on earth follow Islam. The religion is currently in a period of rapid growth. If current trends continue, ISLAM will become the most popular world religion sometime in the mid-21st century. * |

That might be true if look at it from country, to country..but world wide, from what I have seen ..Christian is at about a 33% (dropping) and Muslims are (growing) at about 20%. But I could be wrong. |

Date: 1/13/2005 9:18:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36704 Islam claims to be the fastest growing but then so does the Church of Scientology, but government statistics puts Christianity as the largest and fastest growing. It's not growing as fast as it once did in the US and Europe but that's also because of declining birthrates. The number given for Christianity in 2025 at this growth rate will be 2.6 billion and Islam at only 1.7 so while in European countries it's not increasing as fast, it is in other countries especially Asia, South America and Africa. |
Date: 1/13/2005 10:37:00 PM From Authorid: 15675 Firstborn I realized (on my ride home LOL so forgive my lateness) that my reply may come off as saying 'Christians' specifically are ignorant. NO thats not what I meant! I meant ANYONE who feels the need based on one source (whatever it may be and yes this goes for people who support homosexuality too) to opress or speak out or whatever against or for something. ANYTHING ANYONE! Trust me there are ignorant Wiccans who can sit there and bash Christians, theres ignorant people of no faith who read one thing about Bush/Kerry and decide to vote for them, etc etc... Ms. Morality yes Im Wiccan and no I dont feel it is against nature (btw we dont worship nature really we worship the gods and respect nature and in some patheons a goddess is earth so yes in that case a person would...) by MY REASONING in the WICCAN BELIEF (so this is MY belief not nessacerily an all out Wicca one and it is a BELIEF note that) homosexuality isnt a choice: since we reincarnate to learn certain lessons in life that just may well be a lesson (not to say everyone goes through it though.) I PERSONALLY believe some souls have more female engery and male energy then others i.e. our souls have a sex so a womans soul could be born in a mans body etc... But its a belief Im not going to debate it also this post isnt about Homosexuality so Im not gonna keep discussing it. I just made a remark I shouldnt have (saying moron) and I feel badly for that so I understand why it ruffled some feathers... |

Date: 1/14/2005 12:07:00 AM From Authorid: 16671 Sorry base, good thing its not school huh? Kaja. But see you beleive strongly in reincarnation, which is not what we believe, because we dont agree doesnt make either ignorant. I didnt think you meant just christians being ignorant, but really anyone that disagrees with your beliefs, votes for someone you disagree with ect ect are ignorant? But anyway, feathers aren't ruffled, but your remarks were just used in showing how we are usually treated. You know I loves ya. |
Date: 1/14/2005 12:34:00 AM From Authorid: 15675 Firstborn I agree some people act harshly towards Christians and sadly its as I said earlier a back and forth thing. One 'person of a religion' provokes it and then a person of the provked religion says something and back and forth and back and forth. Anyways I know Christians (LOL a good 99% ) don't believe in reincarnation thats why I stated it as MY belief. I can see why some Christians feel it is a 'sin' to be gay and I feel their free to feel that way BUT I dont think its right of them (and by them Im talking protesters, fanatics, what not) to go acting like because THEY feel that way the LAW should too. Laws should be SECULAR and thats not a religious belief thats just the belief a good portion of the free world holds. Again you didnt take my comment right when u said that because they didnt agree with me I find them ignorant. Nooo I went OUT OF MY WAY to say thats not the case. Ignorance means lack of knowledge and I dont care what their side is but if they have a lack of knowledge on it their still ignorant! I dont know how many times I have to repeat myself seems people only read what they want and ignore the rest...Oh one last comment u said my comments show what you guys face all the time...well did you ever think that the comments I made as jokes (baby eating and such) are hurled at us constantly? People think Wiccans are Satanist (and yeah I know you or someone on some post said that anyone not Christian is worshipping Satan but these are the same people who would respect a Hindu etc), doing evil and harm to people and such, and also think that their all out of their gourds lalala. One question I was SERIOUSLY asked by an honor student who was graduating early: 'Can you turn people into frogs?' LOL today by 2 Christians they posted that 'new age' is a religion and went on to associate it with Pagans and evils and what not...which isnt true (see my post.) I mean discrimination is always there to ANY religion or even spiritual person: due to years of fanatics in many religions the general populace seems scared of faith in any form or way. |

I'll try to get to it before I leave. But see this is the point, You say and of course I should leave this for your post, but it kind of fits in here, you say that what they said on your post is not true. I read that the true definition of a Christian is a person that believes that Jesus was the son of God and that they believe in Jesus's teachings. Somebody, somewhere, some belief, is going to oppress someone else and their belief. No good reason except they want to play "king of the mountain" and make out like they are better. Truth in a little bit of every belief if you look hard enough and we will all find out in the end what the truth really is. |
