It's not just a Jewish 'thing'. And if you think about it , it makes sense. Especially with the spread of BSE etc...Pigs will and regularly do eat their own.  |

Well, the Biblical prohibition against eating pork was given to the Jews only; It's just one of 613 commandments in the the Torah..the Law..given to the Jews as a sign of the special covenant between them and God. However, pork really is not a good thing to eat...causes high blood pressure and heart problems. It's o.k. for Gentiles to eat it, though from a spiritual standpoint.  |

Actually Songbird it is also prohibited by muslims too. Other religions I'm sure adhere to this but which I do not know, Islam? |

my own honest opinion is that it is not a sin to eat pork...I eat it and dont consider myself being sinful....hugs  |

No I dont believe pork is a sin to eat...besides God put the animals here for us to eat, right? I go to a church that preaches straight from the Bible..u know strict by it. and my pastor has never said anything like that so I'm sure its not a sin. Great Post!  |
