CHOCOLATE - LEMON SPRITZ SANDWICHES

1 package (18 ounces) refrigerated sugar cookie dough

3/4 cup all-purpose flour

2 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature

1/2 cup confectioners' sugar

2 teaspoon grated lemon zest

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 cup green candy melts

1/4 cup canned chocolate frosting

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. At low speed beat dough with flour, cream cheese, sugar, zest and vanilla until combined. Transfer to cookie press fitted with tree disc. Press cookies onto ungreased cookie sheets at least 2 inches apart. Bake 9 to 10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Transfer to rack; cool completely.

Melt candy melts according to package directions. Drizzle 18 cookies with melted candy; let dry, 20 minutes. Spread 36 plain cookies with frosting. Top frosted cookies with plain and drizzled cookies.

Makes 36 sandwich cookies.
