Portrait in a Window Frame.........MorningGlory

Lady in the window
you are there everyday,
a woman I do not know
yet feel I can relate.

That window seems to me
a frame to such beauty,
yet like a piece of art,
bound to that frame, never to part.

I see your loneliness and pain.
That pensive look you try to feign,
so those that pass will not see
the empty shell that does remain.

Are you that numb?
To never warm to anyone?
To forever remain
behind the glass in your window frame?

You seem so far away
though only seperated
by that pane of glass
as you dwell upon your past.

Lady in the window,
with a face so sad,
won't you come out
from behind that glass facade?

I sit and stare
and wonder of your pain.
I gaze upon your reflection
'cross the street in a window pane.
