hot drinks, no talking. the second is hard, but the less you talk, the more rest your voice gets. tea is really great. the entire time I was losing my voice, I drank English Breakfast tea with sugar and cream, and that helped so much. it soothed my throat and help clear it up, especially when the tea was hot. the warm liquids just seem to help. |

Resting the vocal chords that have been strained. Talk as little as possible, gargle with salt water, and take some tylenol or something like that, which will help the inflamation (swelling in the throat) stay down so healing can take place. But the best way to help cure it is to not talk much at all. Drink warm things like caffiene free tea, or hot water with a little lemon and honey in it. Or get some cough drops. Stay away from milk, as that will clog up the throat tissues and prevent healing as fast as possible. The mineral zinc is good for this condition. |
