I have a Christmas song by Steve James that goes:
What's the one thing I like about Christmas?
Is it presents under the tree
Or the mistletoe or just watching
the snow falling gracefully?
What's the one thing I like about Christmas?
Is it shopping from store to store
Or the decorations, like hanging a
wreath on the door?
The holidays are here
It's our favorite time of of year.
All our faces are merry and bright.
The carolers are are singing and jingle
bells are ringing
All though the winter night.
What's the one thing I like about Christmas?
It's the feeling deep in in my heart.
It's the love and joy that I felt
as a boy from the start.
So, I was thinking if I could pick just ONE thing I liked about Christmas what would it be? Really got me to thinking... I think it would be the one really special time of the year to share love and joy with those we care about just as Jesus has done for us.
I get more thrills out of sending and receiving Christmas cards, than trying to shop for or make gifts. Really, shopping depresses and stresses me and making things seems to put me on a deadline, which I never was very good at keeping.
