Iraq Prisoner abuse cases, Kerry and swift boat vets..maybe kerry wasn't so evil?--r1

So we all know that there was prisoner abuse done by Americans in Iraq. It's a fact, and there are now more reports of possible abuse by Americans.

Now, what if one of our soldiers testifies in front of congress, and states his observations about abuse of prisoners in Iraq, will we consider him/her anti-american and unpatriotic? Or would we just think they are testifying to the facts as they see the facts?

Flash back to John Kerry. He serves in Vietnam, comes home, and testifies in front of congress, about possible abuses he observed by our soldiers! Is he unpatriotic? Or just testifying to the facts, based on how he perceives them?

If the Iraqi vet is patriotic for testifying, but Kerry isn't, why isn't Kerry patriotic?

Date: 12/21/2004 6:15:00 PM  From Authorid: 49101    Say WHAT? What crimes??? Are you mad??? Kerry wasn't evil, he was as much a patriot as any other guy. He lost, because Bushman CHEATED the first time, and Scared everyone the second time. Crimes... What Crust.
Date: 12/21/2004 6:24:00 PM  From Authorid: 62599    Kerry isnt unpatriotic! hes just a total moron
Date: 12/21/2004 6:25:00 PM  From Authorid: 62599    Heh, i shouldnt say that either, he is veyr intelligent,,,,,but he had no chance from the outset, despite what the liberal media wanted everyone to think, and he wasnt fit to be a president.
Date: 12/21/2004 6:28:00 PM  From Authorid: 49101    What the liberal media wanted everyone to Think? Yeah, because he made NO NAME for himself without the media right? I mean the media just wanted us to THINK he served in a war instead of Dodging it like a certain BushClan Memeber did right?
Date: 12/21/2004 6:55:00 PM  From Authorid: 62851    The vets from Iraq were testifying to actual events as part of an ongoing criminal investigation. Kerry was making broad generalizations and many of the witnesses he used have been proven time and time again to have not even been in Vietnam. As far as the continuation of the myths about the last few elections I would suggest looking up the facts instead of repeating what others have said.
Date: 12/21/2004 7:12:00 PM  From Authorid: 16671    Well let see, yes kerry went to nam, bush was a pilot stationed in texas, even bush said kerrys service record was heroic because he was in harms way, while bush wasnt. BUT
Soon after Kerry, as a Navy Lieutenant (junior grade) commanding a Swift boat in Vietnam, was awarded the Silver Star, he used an obscure Navy regulation to leave Vietnam and his crew before completing his tour of duty.

After returning home, he quit the Navy early and changed the color of his politics to become a leader of VVAW. Kerry wasted no time organizing opposition in the United States against the efforts of his former buddies still ducking communist bullets back in Vietnam.

Kerry participated in the so-called Winter Soldier Investigation where his fellow protesters accused his fellow GIs of war crimes.

Kerry's betrayal of American prisoners of war, his blatant disrespect for the families of our missing in action, Vietnam veterans, the military, his support for communist Vietnam and his waffling over the issue of use of force in Iraq proves he is a self promoting Chameleon Senator who cannot be relied on to protect the best interests of the United States.

NOW I can see someone telling the facts. But when they are part of the facts , then no I dont think kerry is very patriotic. Here are the facts.ANd kerry was PART of the abuse , W. Scott Thompson, recalled a conversation with the late Admiral Elmo R. Zumwalt Jr. that clearly had a slightly different take on Mr. Kerry’s recollection of their discussions: that during his own command of U.S. naval forces in Vietnam, just prior to his anointment as CNO, young Kerry had created great problems for him and the other top brass,by killing so many non-combatant civilians and going after other non-military targets.‘We had virtually to straitjacket him to keep him under control,’ OK NOW READ that again, """,by killing so many non-combatant civilians and going after other non-military targets.‘We had virtually to straitjacket him to keep him under control,’ ""
But now I'm done here, as Kerry is old hat and I see no more sense debating about him other then to tell miss c that I'm sure bush's people stood at every voting booth in the united states , armed to the teeth so they could scare them into voting for him. LOL, that has got to be the silliest thing I've ever heard. I mean like what would bush have done to them? Tracked them all down after he wasn't elected again? Come on get real.

Date: 12/21/2004 7:43:00 PM  From Authorid: 17081    Even Kerry will tell you hisself that he committed crimes.
Date: 12/22/2004 6:17:00 AM  From Authorid: 59163    what are you talking about here? this debate has no clear thought at all.
Date: 12/22/2004 7:06:00 AM  From Authorid: 58308    I ABSOLUTELY AGREE WITH FIRSTBORN!!!!!!!! Dagon, good point!!
Date: 12/22/2004 8:03:00 AM  From Authorid: 2030    John Kerry is now nothing more than another marginal yet annoying Senator. Note he wasn't confidant enough in his chances to let go of his primary gravy train job. Now he can go back to hanging out with Ted Kennedy and taking money from lobbyists.
Date: 12/22/2004 8:24:00 AM  From Authorid: 61999    Okay, ultimately this point IS moot. IMO Kerry was still simply the better choice; I don't like having a monkey running my country but look, here we are again, another 4 years with the idiot... NOW, if Cheney had been running for president, I might have given HIM a vote because he's scary and creepy and I kinda think that's cool. But not GEORGE! Sheesh, I don't know this whole country is on crack.
Date: 12/22/2004 4:45:00 PM  From Authorid: 2030    The majority of the voters in this country think you may be on crack.
Date: 12/24/2004 2:34:00 AM  From Authorid: 10722    LOL Bcar!
Date: 12/24/2004 2:17:00 PM  From Authorid: 5886    Actually, the vet who blew the whistle on the Abu Gharib scandle is considered by many Americans (especially those from his hometown) to be a traitor. His actions got several of his fellow troops in trouble, and whether it was a morally rightous decision or not, some people believe in their hearts that Iraqis are not human beings and shouldn't be treated as such. I'm sure a simular attitude existed in the Vietnam era, where it was preferable to keep silent about soldiers who tortured or murdered prisoners or civilians than to soil an American's reputation.
Date: 12/30/2004 4:41:00 PM  From Authorid: 28363    I understand how you feel. Unfortunately, some people take politics waaayyy too seriously. Happy New Year
