Just before Thanksgiving my Mom and I sent a care pack to a soldier serving in Iraq. We did not know him. We got his name by chance after our local paper ran an article about one of our State Reps sending out packages from constituants. My Mom noticed a woman buying some of the items they said the needed. and asked her if they were for a soldier. She said yes they were. Her son is in the Marines in Bagdad My Mom mentioned that we wanted to send to a soldier but did not have a name to send it to. About I week later she called us with a name . We them filled up a box with goodies popcorn ,instant soup hot chocolate, cookies, candy and other stuuf and sent if off Nov 22nd. ast week we got a wonderful letter from "our soldier thnaking us for the package and saying how much he and his buddies appreciated the things especially the soup and hot chocolate as it gets very cold there at night. He told us about him he is 27 and has been in the service for 8 years. He has been in Iraq since March 2003. This is he last year in the service and he is hoping to come home soon. He has plans to get married inSept and buy a farm. He has been in my heart ever since I recieved the letter and constantly on my mind. Ever time I ere of a soldier killed over there my heart stops Would all of you please keep Sgt Wayne Culkins in your thoughts and prayers.

Date: 12/21/2004 4:14:00 PM  From Authorid: 19625    I'm sure he appreciated it greatly. My father is in Iraq, he's in the Army and was called there last Feb. Luckily he only had to be there a year, and should be home sometime around January 12th. It makes me happy to hear about people sending care packages like this, because a lot of the soldiers there get very lonely, and depressed, and the packages help them through. Erin-
