EASY CHICKEN CACCIATORE

2 pounds chicken parts

2 tablespoons shortening

1 can (10 ouonces) condensed tomato soup

1/2 cup chopped onion

1/4 cup Chianti or other dry red wine

2 large cloves garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon oregano, crushed

dash of salt

1/2 medium green pepper, cut into strips

In frying pan, brown chicken in shortening; pour off fat.

Addd remaining ingredients except pepper.

Cover; cook over low heat 30 minutes; add pepper.

Cook 15 minutes more or until chicken is tender; stir occasionally.

Makes 4 servings
