WASHWOMAN GHOST, CENTRAL AVENUE, BETTENDORF, IOWA

  Author:  18155  Category:(Ghosts) Created:(12/21/2004 6:20:00 AM)
This post has been Viewed (2928 times)

The ghost of a chubby, middle-age washwoman walks into houses here and starts doing the laundry. She has been reported since the late 1800s but apparently kept up with the times. She was first seen with a wooden wash tub. Then, she started to appear with a double-wringer machine. The ghost has appeared along Central Avenue, although some reports place her on Oak Street also. Haunted Places, p.174.

How it changed my life:

Well it sure beats having to do it myself.
