Grandma's Christmas Brownies

A cooking group I belong to sent me this recipe in a Email message and now I make these brownies for my family when they come home for the holidays. They are unaware of the fact it's not my original recipe, so I call it Grandma's Christmas Brownies and hope they don't come across my secret. I had a little trouble locating some of the ingredients, but my kind grocer was able to help me with them. Here it is to spread in yummy holy'day joy!

8 (1 oz.) squares of unsweetened chocolate 1 cup butter 5 eggs 3 cups sugar 1 Tablespoon vanilla a sprinkle of nutmeg 1-1/2 cups flour 2-1/2 cups chopped pecans, toasted festive holiday sprinkles Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Melt chocolate and butter in a saucepan over low heat; set aside. In a mixer, beat eggs, sugar and vanilla at high speed for 10 minutes. Blend in chocolate, flour, and other dry ingredients until just mixed. Stir in the nuts. Pour into a greased 9 X 13 inch pan. Bake for 35-40 minutes. (Don't overbake.) Cool, frost and add colorful sprinkles if desired, but that is not necessary.
