I'm like you, I'd rather let the person know what I would like/need, have them choose from there Unless they already KNOW what I want/like, but it's always better to KNOW for sure straightforward, just in case you guess wrong. For example, I was going to get my bf what I THOUGHT he would like, but thankfully he picked up on it and let me know otherwise He said he would have loved and appreciated it, but he would have probably just worn and used it out of consideration for me IMO, not because HE really liked it......I've done that before, too. It's better to get something you REALLY liked or will make better use of instead.  |

I got him an X-Box and a bunch of stuff for the stocking I made for him and he knows about it all...I picked it all out myself THEN showed it to him lmao...thankfully...he liked it. |

Yeah, my bf wants me to go shopping with him to pick out my xmas presents but i want a suprise!! So I think we've reached a compromise, I going to pick out a pair of shoes that i want and he'll suprise me with something to go with them  |

ya besides picking out what i want from my parents, i dont like the idea of a boyfriend doing that. There's no surprises and he's not even putting any care or thought in it.
