I live in the L.A. area and I'm not really familar with any apts that run that low that are in a good area. Apts are pretty high. but the more inland you go the cheaper they get... |

I know Rika, but I'm hoping that there are going to be students or something living in a place who needs a roommate and my contribution would be that much. I've heard stories of like 6 people living in a 2 bedroom, stuff like that, just as long as it would be in a nice area...hope hope |

Well the $315 will be paid for by not me, it would be from Voc Rehab, but I figured the rest would be utilities, I almost want to see if since I'd still be a student, but although not going to that school see if I could live in the dorm of one of the universities there???? |

Don't live in either of those cities, but can already tell you that you're going to need roommate(s) with that low of rent in any major city. The thing about internships is, most of them are going to be in major cities, because that's where the jobs are...especially in the area that you're interested in. If you want to do fashion merchandising, you gotta go where the fashion merchandisers are. So you're probably going to have to eat the costs for a few months while you work. You're actually lucky if you can find an internship with a stipend. The question you have to ask is, what is this experience worth to me? Like, you could probably find an "internship" at home with decent pay working for some department store, but is that going to open the kind of doors that working at a giant clothing firm in New York City will? My other advice is, be very careful and do your research well before you settle on something. You might find that the job at a big, prestigious company is nothing more than making coffee and answering phones when you were hoping to get some good experience. Be sure to find out what kinds of duties they expect from their interns and what kind of work their interns are able to find afterwards. |
