My Rainbow-Gothic Angel

I painted a rainbow, with
many magnificent colours
and hues. I feasted my eyes
on pure beauty.

The sparkling colours cascaded
as I painted, until I
could no longer observe my
beautiful creation.

Blinded, I stepped away, I
looked away, from my pride and
joy. Closing my eyes with
burning salt falling.

Finally looking through blurred eyes,
I see my rainbow painted. No joy,
no life, but death. Painted now in many
shades of grey.

A fury burns within me, my pain
rekindles the fire. Slabbing paint,
over the greys, but yet to
no prevail.

On bended knee, I sob as a child
would when told 'no'. Running my hand
down the wet rainbow; no matter what
colours, how vibrant it is....

My rainbow is always grey.

-Heather AKA Gothic Angel
