MMM...you just reminded me of something...I was at a counter at Robinsons May the other night and a nice looking young man was in front of me waiting for the cashier. this guy was dressed really nice ( slacks, tie and jacket) smelled REALLY good and he made sure his BMW key chain was hanging out of his pocket. Then when he was ready to pay he came out with a wallet full of cash..paid with all haundreds..he made sure the cashier and others noticed this...after he paid he took a glance at me and smiled and left. When it was my turn to pay the cashier made the funniest face..she was like" Whats up with that guy?" I just shrugged and left...while walking towards my car I felt some one following me, I turned around and it was him! I kind of stopped and he just came towards me and handed me his card and left. I kind of stood there confused..I looked at the card and it read.."I think your cute, call me"...What the....? Talk about Cocky...no I didnt call..but i still have the card =)hehehe |

i hear ya shay. i think we still aren't quit on the same wavelength, if i could think of someone that fit perfectly i would say - maybe i'll come up with it. alot of coaches are just redneck. or testosterone filled (which isn't all that bad in itself 8-p)...but some are cocky and self assured. I'VE GOT IT!!!!!!!!!!...the ultimate cocky man, the one that is EXACTLY the type i'm thinking here, whether i described him well above or not --is..........sean connery. that is what i mean. |

I used to LOVE cocky guys, until I got a bit older and realized that a lot of them are players. Now I turn away from the overtly cocky ones. I still love a man with confidence, it is probably the sexiest thing a guy (or girl, for that matter) could have. Nothing extreme, just a guy who doesn't put himself down and walks with his head up. |

No, I don't like them at all...especially since they are the ones that just assume that you will like them and don't leave you alone. I mean there's a difference between cocky and confident. Yep..always have loved it!! My man has that confidence that you're talking about. All of the ladies at work want him, and he knows it- even the old ones!! He just ahs this "thing" that attracts them. It used to bug me alot..I mean, that's why I love him..but after seeing girls at work blatantly flirting with him right in front of me..(don't worry..I made SURE they knew that he was off the market if they weren't aware). Now though I just have to laugh at the lengths that some go to trying to get his attention..and he just doesn't even pay it any mind. |

Wildbob pushed the doors to the saloon open and surveyed the room. The spurs on his bicycle shoes jingles softly as he walked. MaryAnn, the hostess, spilled a drink on a customer as she stared transfixed as the muscles in his legs flexed and contracted rhythmically under his lycra bike shorts as he walked. “Barkeep, I’ll have a chocolate milkshake with a double shot of chocolate.” Wildbob said. “I’ve got a lot of miles left to ride today and stand a little fix before I ride on” |

I believe that there is a difference between being cocky and confident. Not only that, but being confident is limited; you can only be confident in the things that you've experienced and so know you are good at. If you want something more overall, you have to go with good self-esteem. Now for the details of each: with being cocky, there is a certain human phenomena that I've observed. It is that when someone becomes good at something, there is sometimes phenomenon A or phenomenon B, or both. "A" is when they think they have gone further than they have in there ability, and so think they are better than they really are. "B" is when they pretty much know their own ability, but believe that others are going to usually be less skilled than they really are. They assume that others are generally more ignorant or inferior than they really are. If both come into play, you really have a cocky person. Cocky is when confidence involves comparing yourself to others and assuming you are still better. I try never to be cocky. To me, it's a false sense of reality that serves no real purpose other than stroking one's own ego or impressing others who believe in what the cocky one says or does without looking closer at it. Now I do have confidence in many things. The thing is, I know others can be just as good if not better. I don't care. Maybe I can learn something! But I also know that I am better than many others at certain things. I don't care. Maybe I can teach them if they want to learn. True, I have no girlfriend right now, and maybe this is why. But you know, one day I'll find someone who appreciates me for who I am. |
