feel all along the walls and look for holes.. look around the exterior for a place they are entering because they have to be getting in somewhere also look for ant hills you can use chemicals all you want but that isnt safe for you/the cat and it wont stop them from comming back once the chemicals go away.. also contact your landlord(if you are renting) and tell them about the ants |

Hand the ants some drums, batans, and streamers. The cats will chase em, eat em, and theres the solution to your problem. |

If it has been raining then the ants are drawn to the shelter.. sometimes it is just one of those things and no matter how clean you are they still come. Why not invest in ant poison? Do ants realy cause harm to cats? Surely it is just added protein? Ghost-chick |

I just don't want my cat getting that filth in her body. Ants are disgusting. And yes, it has been raining quite a bit around here. We just got snow - last week? The week before that? |

there is a food dish that is made to keep bugs and so forth out of the food...we us it for our dog out side and it seems to work good....but as for the ants...you may need to call someone.
Arc Angel....sheesh i wish i could fix this...lol |

Along the same lines as chapstick, try using lemon pledge. Spray along the sides of walls on the floor. Other than that, I dont know what else would take care of them except for traps or exterminator. I really dont think an exterminator would do the trick because they would have to do the whole peramiter of the building and I dont think you'd want to pay for that lol. |

stand the cat bowl in a dish of water, thats what I do to keep the ants out of the dogs dish...she can still get into the food...I also have little round black plastic things that the ants can walk into but the animals cant get into and when the ants eat the stuff in it, they take it back to their nests and it helps to keep them down...other than that speak to the owners....hugs |
