I got my cast off today, but now I am in a walking cast made with velcro so I can remove it myself.
I was disappointed when the doctor told me..."6 more weeks..." That totally busted my balloon.
I had to flex my foot for him and he and the orthopaedic therapist both agree that my foot isn't ready for full weight bearing exercise. The therapist measured it and it has to bend 10 more degrees (toward me) to be right.
Anyway...I have to do exercises everyday until I go back to the doctor on the 4th of January. The excercises are supposed to loosen the tendon up and make it more flexible and you can believe that I am doing them as often as he told me to. I still have to keep it elevated because he said a blood clot can still develop, so while I sit there watching even more TV, I am going to just move it around, flex it back and forth to get my ankle used to it, because it hurts right now and is sore and swollen.
Anyway, just wanted to share my very disappointing morning with all of you....
