Date: 11/30/2004 10:22:00 AM From Authorid: 62881 There is a girl in a nearby community that had this same thing, except she actually could see them. She was little then, about 6 or 7 at the time, I think...they did a story on the discovery channel about her. It is called "A Haunting in Georgia". I have met this family at community events and they are nice as can be. They have had a lot of negativity around them because of this. My friends mother used to own the land that the family lives on and she is in the movie also. She visited the girls mother one day. The girl's mother told her about the "imaginary friend" her daughter had been talking to and playing with. My friend's mom recognized the name and at a later date brought pictures by and the girl picked the man's picture out from a stack of photographs. The man had been dead for over 20 years. That was something...just look for the movie on TV...it may help you...Green Eyed Froggy |

This is an excerpt from another website. It is done in criticising how the movie was made, but the part I am posting below is the basic story. By the way...I had me this family before the movie was made. The story. An Ellersie, Ga., family claims to be undergoing extended hauntings at their home. At age three, Heidi Wyrick met a stranger she called "Mr. Gordy," who became her constant companion. No one else could see him; the family took years to decide that Mr. Gordy was more than Heidi's imaginary friend. At six and a half, Heidi awoke with apparent claw marks on her cheek. A year later her father Andy woke up with similar gashes on his torso. Meanwhile the visions continued: not just Mr. Gordy, but a man with a severed hand and a shadowy figure with a hooded face. Mr. Gordy and the one-handed man were discovered to be long-dead past residents of the area: how could Heidi have known anything about them? Unsolved Mysteries did a piece on the Wyricks in 1994. Heidi's sixteen now, and the visions are still coming. Her younger sister and her mother, Lisa, sometimes see things too. Amazingly, the family never moved. Instead they went to parapsychologist William Roll, who chalked up the apparitions to "place memories" triggered by positive ions produced by a nearby earthquake fault. The makers present this as a "scientific" explanation! Dissatisfied with Roll's counsel, the family consulted psychic Amy Allen, who detected several spirits, one of them evil, another a "protector." Finally, after almost a decade of manifestations, the Bible-believing Wyricks thought to involve their church, undergoing a bargain basement exorcism while New Dominion's cameras rolled. http://www.csicop.org/list/listarchive/msg00369.html |
Date: 12/1/2004 1:02:00 AM From Authorid: 62915 I don't see the need in involving a priest if the spirits aren't mean... they may be there becasue they choose to be there. Ask your son if they are nice to him. Do some research on the house and see if you can find out who it might be. *hugs* Ghost-Chick |
Date: 12/1/2004 6:52:00 AM From Authorid: 56489 We just bought a house last January too, but our last apartment my brother in laws wife's grandmother died in the livingroom while sleeping. But we moved in after my brother in law bought his own home up the street, & ow we bought the house right next to them. But anyhow our cats used to be quite spooked in that apartment they would hide to sleep, which they never did normally. But I really think the spirt of the lady hated cats. The one day my cat decided to sleep on the top of the loveseat out in the open & it was only me in the house so she is quite content & won't budge when she sleeps, she curls her nose under her tail & sleeps sound. But I came in through the room not making any noise as usual, but she trned her head when I got in the room & she's looking straight ahead hissing, which she never does not in that form of way, I was off to the side of her but she was looking at someone, that apparently made her mad. I told my fincee when her came home, and he said when the grandmother died the couch she died on was on that same wall. But he noticed strange behavior with our other 4 cats. But now the house we bought the mother & son died but not in the home. Knock on wood & the cats are much more content. But I thnk since yyou bought the home and plan on staying I would probably take your hubby's suggestion. |
