Oh...also...none of the veterinarians here in town are willing to make payment arrangements, they will only take postdated checks. That would be fine, except i dont have a checking account |

Do you have a vet school near you?....often times because they have the students (near grads) Doing the work supervised their rates are alot cheaper. |

I thought about that...but the nearest vet school to me is in St. Paul, which is 4 hours away. I'd never be able to get the time off to go there...not for a cat. |

Is there no one you could ask to help who DOES have a checking account? |

I'm sorry I don't really know of any fin. aid, maybe you could borrow it? I recently lost my cat, my brother was supposed to be taking care of her while I was out of state, but now she's dead, and my little "sister" broke my kittens leg recently, and we thought it was going to need amputating, so myabe I'm just bitter, but I'd make your sister pay for it since she was responsible for it at the time. I hope you figure something out. |

This may sound dreadfully cruel, but it is better to give away, or euthanase a cat that is in pain that you cannot afford to fix. I pray that you'll find another way though.... |

if you have a local shelter...you can call them..sometimes they will help out with costs that the owner can't afford. I know where I work we have people callus that can't afford it..and sometiems we can be of assistance....if it is going to be really expensive though the best thing would be to have it humanely put to sleep. Sounds harsh adn cruel.....but that's just the way it is..... |

How about calling your local animal shelter and explain this to them and ask if there is any kind of charitable place you can go to.. usually they have some numbers to give out to people about this. They could even help you if say perhaps, you reimburse them with some free time to help around the kennels or promise to donate to them in the amount you get from them to cover costs of this surgery.. even if that is a bit here and thre, as long as it it paid back.. least it works that way around here where I live. She is trying to eat off her tail because it causes her great discomfort. This really needs tended to, right extreme away.. I get the feeling her tail was shut in a door and broken, this is why she is eating it off, as her mind feels that will take away the discomfort.. but we know it only causes greater pain. |

A cats balance is in their tail. If the tail is affected, so too, is the way they walk. |

Some vets will allow you to make payments to them. My mothers vet would let pay some when she picked up the animal and then make payments on the balance. Good luck to you and I hope you find something to help out. |
