I fell in love with the movie and decided to read the book I liked them both!

Gone With The Wind By Margaret Mitchell

Scarlett O'Hara is the belle of the county and in the first start of the book she's teasing all the boys at a bbq trying to make her old beau Ashley Wilkes jealous because she finds out he is going to marry his cousin Melanie and thinks if he see's her flirting he will realize he loves her really and won't marry Melanie, Suddenly the men are called to war and Scarlett's life is turned upside down. Throughout the course of the book she has a series of hardships to overcome and her life changes drastically. This book is a little boring at times because of its length which is 1024 pages and it gets a little repetitive but it's definatly worth the read if you like historical romances. Don't expect it to be exactly like the movie because in the movie a lot of things are left out.I give it 4 and a half out of 5 stars.

Date: 10/31/2004 3:50:00 PM  From Authorid: 24924    I've read the book many times and seen the movie at least a half dozen times. I'm sure I will see it a few more times. I love it. Wish you could see my "Miss Scarlett" impersonation.
Date: 10/31/2004 3:54:00 PM  From Authorid: 62881    This book is considered a classic and I have read it cover to cover several times. I have also read the book "Scarlett" and have it on my bookshelf right now. The main thing I hate about the story, (in both books)is the fact that Scarlett doesn't show care and concern for any of her children except Bonnie in "GWTW", and the child she had with Rhett in "Scarlett". In "Scarlett" those other children are not mentioned at all....other than that I loved both the books and I loved both movies....Green Eyed Froggy

The same thing bothered me too about the kids its like she could care less about them. I havent saw the Scarlett movie yet I want to though,I dont think anyone could Replace Vivan Leigh & Clark Gable though as the original Scarlett & Rhett..LOL Clark Gable was a hottie!
