Whose Trick or Treating Tonight?.........LadyLuck

Hey everyone!

Well tonight is Halloween, and all the little gouls, goblins and monsters are going to be out roaming the streets looking for candy.

This year is a little different though. Since Halloween falls on Sunday some communities decided to do the trick or treat thing on Saturday night instead of Sunday night for religious reasons. In my old home town where my parents live, it was last night, so I bundled up my youngest son and drove the hour to my parent's house to take him out there. Tonight we are taking him out in our community so he is getting a double dose of trick or treating!

When was/is it being celebrated in your town? I actually had someone tell me I was cheating people out of treats by taking my son to my hometown last night and then taking him out here tonight. I say POOOEY on them! My son gets to have twice the fun and get twice the treats! How could THAT possibly be a bad thing? LOL

So who is trick or treating tonight and what are you dressing up as?

Date: 10/31/2004 10:41:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 33925    How come Shorty?? Trick or treating is so much fun! I went until I was about 16 years old! Last night when I took my son out, I even got some treats. One of the great things about growing up in a small town. Everyone knows you and remembers you as a child..LOL..My poor kid was getting tired of all the "old" (his words) hugging me and wanting to talk..LOL
Date: 10/31/2004 10:42:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 33925    I saw your pics Emi! You are such a cutie in that dress! My Daughter is going as a rennassaince (sp) Princess..She is wearing a pink velour gown and a fancy head dress.
Date: 10/31/2004 10:47:00 AM  From Authorid: 62476    I don't go because I got better things to do (well I give out candy) that's better,....you get more candy if you eat what you give out plus you don't have to inspect it
Date: 10/31/2004 10:52:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 33925    LOL..fair enough! I always loved going out all dressed up though and causing mischief!
Date: 10/31/2004 11:07:00 AM  From Authorid: 35160    i have to work tonight, so i will be giving out candy.
Date: 10/31/2004 11:23:00 AM  From Authorid: 62273    Well, I'm going. I feel silly but Im going! lol
Date: 10/31/2004 11:40:00 AM  From Authorid: 36766    The town I grew up in, their trick or treat was on Thursday. Where I live now, it was last night. I think trick or treating should be held on the day of Halloween, not a few days before or even the night before. It defeats the whole purpose of the holiday. I'm sure god wouldn't mind little children going out & enjoying themselves, for one day.
Date: 10/31/2004 12:09:00 PM  From Authorid: 38406    My town did trick or treating on Friday. Don't ask me why they did it on Friday. I thought it was a dumb idea. I had to work on Friday so I didn't go. The town next to me goes tonight and I wanted to go but all my friends are going to other towns around me so I won't be going trick or treating this year because I have no one to go with.
Date: 10/31/2004 1:24:00 PM  From Authorid: 62184    Tonight's trick or treating for me. I'm taking my neice out, whose dressed as Elmo. I'm dressed.. well not G rated so I won't say.. lol. I find it kinda dumb to do the whole trick or treat before Halloween. It's not even Halloween if you do it before the actual day. It's just kids running around dressed up on a normal day. Oh and speaking of dressing up.. I better go get my neice done up.. I'm a huge procrastinator..lol.
Date: 10/31/2004 2:59:00 PM  From Authorid: 53836    not us...we threw a party for the boys last night...They got their faces painted, tried to pull dimes out of a swinging apple with only their teeth, bobbed for apples, we played a totally gruesome game of tomato baseball, made a campfire & roasted hotdogs, had a delicious punch I made along with candy, cookies, and graveyard dirt cake...I got them the little glow sticks and tied it on a string around their neck and had all the pumpkins lit up and some good rock and roll playin' in the background...it was a wonderful time. Today I took down the Halloween decor and replaced it with Thanksgiving stuff...most of this area celebrated yesterday since today's a Sunday, a day of worship...it just didn't sit well with me to celebrate it today...and apparently I wasn't alone as most towns held trick-or-treating yesterday.
Date: 10/31/2004 3:54:00 PM  From Authorid: 62841    i'm going trick-or-treating and i'm going as britney spears on crack..i have the white button up shirt wiht a tie, a plaid skirt, white nylons, boots, pigtails, and black eyes....-PsYcHoTiCbEaSt
Date: 10/31/2004 4:29:00 PM  ( Admin-DNL )   Not me. Halloween is boring as you get older, thats how I feel atleast. I even forgot it was Halloween like ten times today.
Date: 10/31/2004 4:48:00 PM  From Authorid: 19220    Mine went tonight. Most people around here went tonight but a lot of the churches had a fall celebration last night as well.
Date: 10/31/2004 5:56:00 PM  From Authorid: 1799    i thought i would come and tell you that we had a great time. we went out, took photos, acted like dorks throughout the town, and then came home and traded candy. lol. it was great!
Date: 10/27/2006 11:57:00 AM  From Authorid: 39370    I'll be trick or treating for the first time in years this Halloween lol. We're going out to Disney and they allow trick or treating for all ages!
