Here is my review of Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night II. This movie just aired on FOX at 2 am and ended about ten minutes ago, so I thought I might review it. It was pretty good. You have to understand it was your typical cheesy 1980s horror flick, so don't expect anything particularly special, it was just....good. It was about a girl named Mary Lou who was burned to death at her prom night in 1957 by her boyfriend after catching her with another boy. At the time she was being crowned prom queen. Flash forward to 1987 (when the movie was made) and we see her boyfriend as the principal of the same high school and the other boy is now a catholic priest. The principal now has a son of his own who just happens to be dating the main character of the movie, Vicky Carpenter. After finding Mary Lou's prom dress and crown in the school basement we witness Vicky's gradual decent into madness as she is gradually possessed by the spirit of Mary Lou who is seeking revenge and another chance to become the prom queen. Once she gains complete control, there is murder after murder in the way it can only be done in a cheesy 80s horror flick. Mary Lou gets to be prom queen after all as Vicky, plus she gets her revenge. Eventually Vicky becomes Vicky again, and all returns to normal....or does it? I especially liked the ending where the principal was possessed by Mary Lou in the car with his son and Vicky in the back seat. I found it to be quite a twist. I can only assume all three must have met their demise. All in all a pretty good movie that I would recommend anyone to rent. Not great...just...good. If you see it, enjoy!
